Even though I am born in a South Indian family and our staple food is rice, I have enjoyed eating wheat more. Right from childhood, I would never eat rice, if there were no rotis (wheat bread), at home. I had to have rotis all the time. After we moved to south India, we have not had much rotis at all here. It's rare now. Wheat is more expensive down south than in North India. But still, I miss the wheat here. I enjoy rice only because of the side dishes which we cook. I love curd rice the most... It's very tasty with a pickle. I can't live without curd rice. It's a must for me. Ha ha ha..

I also think that there is no other carbohydrate-producing material as well as rice.hmm What do you think if you eat other sources of carbohydrate such as bread with meat and vegetable or wheat can make you satisfied? For me it was just filling for a momment ,, haha :D. Thanks Cobradene =) I want to taste your rotis one day .

Please you can... Visit me sometime, and I shall cook them for you. Ha ha..! Rice is good, and is necessary and I do eat it regularly now. I am purely vegetarian, so I eat rice and vegetables. But I have no issues with people who want to eat meat. :-) Have a great time..

yeah... rice is my staple food in my country. I like but not really love it. My family and I eat less rice b'coz when we have lots of vegetable, we prefer eating without rice. I think the vegetables n fish are enough to make me full. However, I'll never hate rice b'coz it's my staple food. :-)

Yes, rice is boring if you only eat rice without supplement it with other delicacies like meat, vegetables and etc.. In fact, rice is an energy packed staples food that is suitable to eat for most people including children. Nothing bad will happen to you even if you eat plenty of rice during the day. lol!!

Yes, I live in a country where people eat rice with everything. I dislike plain rice, so I always try to cook it in a different way or add things to it, like meat, fish, or I even make rice soup. I can eat plane rice if there's no other thing, but I prefer to make it tasty. I don't know if it's the most suitable food, but it has lots of fiber, that is really good for the body.

Hi, Prima641. Yes, I tend to get bored with rice too. That is why I will usually eat macaroni or noodles. Any kind of potatoes works too. I am unsure of staple food. I have never seen that term used in this country concerning rice.

Rice is a staple diet in my part of the country. I love Rice. Sure, there are days, when you feel you had enough and feel like trying a new variety., but within some time, it is back to square one. Probably, you have stopped liking rice because you are not trying to vary your dishes with rice. Why don't you try to find new rice recipes from cooking website like the http://tastyfoodguide.blogspot.com and many more. Maybe then, you will be back to liking rice.

In our country, rice is a staple food. It is part of our everyday diet. Sometimes I eat rice three times a day: morning, noon and evening. I'm not bored with it. I sometimes add soy sauce or liquid seasoning onto the rice to somewhat give it a sweet and spicy flavor. We boil rice with pandan leaves over it and it helps to give rice a sweet and nice flavor.
