in a marathon display of self pity tony blair has been complaining that the british press have it in for him and that people actually like him. especially people outside britain (interesting that). now i have my doubts - ok presumably his friends and family like him (maybe)but is there really a small army of admirers out there? what is your opinion on the blair? - and i would really welcome comments from those outside the uk since apparently this is where his secret fan club hides.

Blair is just trying to soften everyone up before his mauling at the Iraq enquiry. Everyone in Britain knows that Blair is a total c*nt; if people don't think so abroad, it's only because they've less experience of the tw4t.
Personally, I think the meedja is too soft on him.
He really should be shot!

that could be part of it. he is also utterly deluded, he thinks his ahem work abroad is doing wonders for the unfortunate countries concerned. i wouldn't go so far as shooting him but sending him permanently to some far away dump (i was thinking the states*) to do some proper work would suit me.
*put down your arms please. i was probably being facetious

What Tony Blair did to Britain is one of the reasons we moved to Spain, so I'm no fan of his. Back in 1997, when everyone was treating him like the second Messiah, I said I didn't trust him, and nothing he's done since has changed that opinion. People outside Britain don't have to live with the consequences of his years of misrule - that's why they like him. On top of that, the man is a classic example of projecting style over substance, and making everyone believe he's wonderful, when at best he's mediocre and at worst he's the biggest traitor to his country since Lord Haw Haw.
As you may have guessed, I'm not putting myself forward as secretary of the Tony Blair Appreciation Society.

i have to admit i was one of those who voted him in the first time round - but in my defence i was 18 and we were desperate to get the tories out. didn't realise we were actually basically voting them in again. realised pretty quickly that son of thatcher was not going to improve things much.

Don't know enough about it to have an opinion one way or the other except:
1) as an American, I do appreciate his response after 9/11
and
2) he's a politician, he's fair game :-)

I am sorry and I don't mean any disrespect but, I think Tony Blain is a putz! He seems nice enough and probably does a good enough job but is just putzy. He isn't very demonstrative and doesn't really carry himself awfully well. I am sure his family and friends like him just fine and, again, I don't have anything against him, I just don't think he is a very strong personality!

Well he really lost the plot a bit didn't he when he started openly dating George Bush, having his hair tinted blue, spouting on about god, letting his wifes crystal ball carrier make up his policies. His biggest mistake of all though, letting PETER MANDLESON go. When are these politicians going to learn that we all have a bit more respect for the openly machiavellian who don't go round kissing babies. Bring back Maggie I'd say.

Oh do tell, what's Peter up to these days. I think he's great and you won't ever hear me saying that about many politicians.
And please, at least Maggie had more balls than Blair and she'd have soon handbagged old Bushy into shape.

He is not on my Christmas list that is for sure.
I am not sure if he is stupid or if he thinks that everyone else out there is, but as far as I am aware. everyone that I know hates George Bush and all of his political allies during his reign of "terror", which includes Tony Blair! Our own Prime Minister of the day John Howard is also on that hate list for all of his sucking up to "Monkey Boy" Bush!
