Concerts! What was your first experience like?

I have to admit this, I have never been to a concert of any kind, not until Sunday just gone that is! I went to a Christmas concert with a huge orchestra and the music was terrific, it was just a great experience! I then started asking myself why I had wasted all this time and had not made the effort to go to concerts in the past. It was a thrilling experience. Upon arriving home I noticed that they started advertising Star Wars which is to be held at the O2 Arena in London in April 2010 and I'm planning on going to that. I have a real craving for it now having experienced the atmosphere for the first time. What have your experiences been? What type of concerts do you go to? Anyway, I was a little daunted at first but now I'm real hungry for it! Andrew

When it comes to concerts like you are describing I was usually in them. Other than my kids Christmas concerts I have never viewed a Christmas Concert but I have performed in many of them. I always sang in the choir at school and at church, and even performed in performance choirs. I guess I was born to sing. I will probably get back in to singing in choirs again when my youngest gets a couple years older. I have been to several other types of concerts before. I have seen Cindy Lauper, Madona, Wham, Journey, Ozzy Osbourne, Santana, REO Speedwagon, The Smashing Pumpkins, and a radio station concert that had a few different acts including Paula Abdul, and Mili Vinili.

Well, it's nice to actually be in a concert! I'm thinking that this would be quite an experience. I have only ever been to the one concert but as a result of that I am enthusiastic and want to experience many more different concerts. I just think it's really enjoyable and it's a lovely atmosphere. Well, I wish you luck with these goals. You can make 2010 an even better year! Cheers. Andrew

I'm so glad that you're first concert experience was a great one, Andrew! My first concert was in college. It was a Bob Seeger concert. I've always liked him and his music. I haven't been to any kind of a concert since. It's a money thing, you know? LOL! Enjoy the Star Wars concert. Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Yes, I'm keen on going to further concerts now but as you mention, it's a money thing and it's quite difficult at the present time. I hope to get to the star wars concert although I have not booked any tickets as yet and they are taking bookings now for the concert that will take place in April. Anyway, I guess it's an experience worth having, I'll never forget the Christmas concert I just attended. Andrew

I went to a Madonna concert in 1987 at Wemberly in London. It was a fantastic experience that was really memorable. I went there with my older sister. In 1989 I went with a friend to a Duran Duran concert at the Docklands Arena in London. It was a magical like evening. I didn't like the crowds but loved hearing the music. I hope that you will really enjoy seeing Star Wars.

Hi maximax, it sounds like you have good experience in relation to going to concerts and I'm pretty sure that the Madonna concert was a powerful one. I attended my first classical concert on Sunday just gone and like you, I was a little daunted by the crowds but once I was inside and the music was playing away it really was a wonderful experience. Thanks for your thoughts on this and have a lovely Christmas. Andrew

It sounds like you are a concert veteran now!. I'm just starting out on this road of self-discovery! I hope to attend many different concerts in the future and right now I am focusing on attending this Star Wars concert in January 2010. There are lots of great reviews on it and the trailer looks great. Anyway, the only thing I'm not that keen on is the fact that they don't allow you to use digital cameras or things like that in these places. Still, it's pretty exciting stuff! Andrew

Well my first concert was amazing. The music filled the whole place, nobody cares if you dance to the music or jump along with the beat because well they are doing the same thing. We were all screaming, cheering and well having a great time. I loved it when the crowd knew the song so well that it was so amazing that our voices blended and it was spectacular.

That sounds like quite a concert! There must have been quite a powerful atmosphere at that concert. Now that I have suddenly become interested in concerts I have to ask myself what takes my fancy and I'm more inclined to visit classical concerts and choral works! I also love the other type of events and I hope that they host them again, one in particular that I would like to see is Lord of the Dance starring that Flatley chap! Anyway, I guess I'm on an upward road now of attending many concerts in the future. Andrew
