Ever bought an item from Ebay that arrived BROKEN?

About two weeks ago I bought a tea cup trio from someone from the UK.But to my disappointment the saucer of this set arrived broken in half.I don't know if it was broken in transit or broken by the seller but the bottom of it was chipped. It was described as perfect condition so why it has a chip I don't know.It was bubble wrapped and everything but the box was not padded.Geez what a cheap "omitted word", the seller could at least pad the damned box with newspaper or something! Man I'm pissed off, definitely going to give this person NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.

yeah, it happened last year. I bought a bottle of perfume from American seller. When it arrived, I could smell it even wrapped.

Awwww what a shame.Hope you got a refund from seller/paypal.Did that seller offer you insurance? That would have been a big disappointment to order something from so far away and have it arrive broken.

I guess perfumes break often then! The exact same thing happened to me too, see below. Since then, I am not so keen on buying perfumes online anymore, which is a bit of a shame, since they are usually much, much cheaper on Ebay for instance, than in stores here.

Sorry to hear about that. Did you have the option to purchase insurance for the shipping? Maybe there is too much risk with something as fragile as tea cups. Hope you can find a solution that works for everyone. I'm sure the sender figured the bubble wrap was good packing material.

Don't think the seller offered me insurance, but all well maybe I can find a replacement somewhere. Bubble wrap is not enough protection, all the sets I bought that arrived intact had extra padding inside the box,the seller could have at least added old newspapers or something.

It's horrible that something like that happened to you! It has never happened to me with an ebay item, but with things that friends have sent me it has. The postal service often treates the parcels like soccer balls, so no wonder many of them arrive broken, no matter how well you protect them

It's nice to hear nothing you have received from the post has arrived broken, this is my first time getting something broken.I never considered how badly parcels are treated by the post, but when I sell books to people I always add bubble wrap because I don't like my books bent even if they are no longer my books.

What did you buy?I don't know if there is any solution if you get a damaged box,I guess your best bet is to contact the seller and maybe they might offer a refund, but I highly doubt it.I've tried contacting the seller but he/she hasn't replied

Yeah, it happened to me once, with a perfume of all things! I specifically asked the seller to pack it well (since I am quite paranoid about these things), but the seller did not, and the bottle broke in the mail. I contacted the seller, and told him or her what happened and got a full refund! So it was okay in the end. Did you try contacting the seller?
