Some time small things cause big frustration

We all know how busy these holiday season gets for everybody. We really don't want any extra things going on in this kind of busy time. Banana is so important in our home, we have to have it every day. Yesterday night I went to a local grocery store, and I saw that the all bananas in the store are green. I asked the man who was stacking the bananas on the self about the green color, and he said it is ready to eat. As its coming from Mexico and is a different variety then we usually see in the store. So I took it as I did not have much time to go to another store only for banana. But today what I found out was that they are not ready to eat, they are not ready for use at all. I had to through out $5.00 worth of banana and I had to run to store again only to get bananas. I hate to spend money and time like that. Does sometime small things cause big frustration for you? If you have any experience please share with us.

Many such things cause frustrations... My and my gf always had such troubles. We would buy fruits and vegetables and get cheated many times. He would give us a bad piece and then would have to run after him... Even it happens with the tailor not doing a perfect job. Small things do cause frustrations, and very big ones.. It happens in a restaurant also. We personally order food without no onion and garlic, and the waiter would do exactly the opposite and bring us food filled with garlic and onion or food cooked in a vessel which has been used to cook onion and garlic. We also ordered eggless cake once for my girlfriend's birthday, and we just went to pick it up the next day, and after we reach our room to celebrate and taste it, the cake was filled with eggs. I don't know why it happens all the time with us. We have had numerous situations.

I think the restaurant stuff happens with lots of people. They will just put something you don't want and that cause a big frustration. It is so annoying.

You could put them in a paper bag and they would ripen up just fine. I would be furious with the store and would complain to the store.

Green bananas will soon ripen, or would have my friend. Ok, they wouldn't have been ripe for some time but at least you wouldn't have wasted your money, these things in life are sent to try us indeed. I do find I get frustrated at the minor things in life, trouble is I am too impatient and because I get impatient easily my frustration levels rise which is not good for the stress factor and for high blood pressure. Sometimes I can demand too much of myself and others and I am easily disappointed, most people would shrug it off, I tend to take it personally which is wrong I know.

Ya, I should not have wasted my money, but I was so frustrated at that moment that I did not think much. Like you I also get disappointed soon and I know that is not good for me lol.

I know they would have been ready, but I was angry as I could not use them when I need and I had to rush to store again, and I did throw them.

I learned at a very early age that green bananas mean they are not yet ready to eat. Yellow ones are ready, and bananas with age spots (brown) and that are all broown are going to be mushy, and over-done. The guy at the store was an idiot. My husband gets easily frustrated by small things, but I don't let them frustrate me, mainly because getting frustrated is not going to solve the problem. Sure I feel frustrated for a minute, but the frustration passes, as soon as i figure out what I am going to do to solve the problem.

I know usually green bananas are not ripe, but there are bananas ready to eat but they are green. Thats why I thought they were those kind of bananas as the guy was saying.

All the time. I bought a video game for my son for Christmas and when he opened up the container to play the game for the first time there was no game inside of the package. It waws not an expensive game but was still 20 dollars. So I called the manager of Walmart and told her and she was very nice and put another game aside for us to come and pick up. But we had to go to customer service and to electronics, the customer service line was huge. So although Walmart was very good and nice about it, it was still annoying to have to go out in the winter time for something like this and stand in a long line. I have to say they did a great job getting that line down.

Hi, sweetladay10. Yes, some small things in my life can cause frustration too. Those bananas were not ready to eat yet, that man did not know what he was talking about. When they are still green, that means that they are not yet ripen. Some people will buy their bananas very green. If they eat it I don't know. But I don't. I know that my father-in-law used to buy bananas that were very green in color. And they would be sitting on the kitchen table, taking a couple of days to get ripen. I would never eat it. It was taking too long. Whenever I go to the store to get bananas, I will make sure that they are very bright and yellow and free of dark bruises. That way, the banana will last much longer. I also try to buy just enough that I know that my family and I will eat. That way, the bananas won't have to go to waste. I myself, don't like buying green bananas to eat on. They are not ready to eat and it can take days to ripen depending on how much of sunshine that the bananas get. If you sit the bananas in the sun, it will ripen faster. But, if there is no sun or not that much sunshine, it will slowly ripen from the green color, and it may start to get those dark bruises on it. This will make it appear rotten in texture. I prefer to buy only yellow bananas that are cool to the touch. It is anyone choice what color that they want to buy their bananas in. If you can wait on it to to ripe then that is up to you, if not you can always go with the yellow colored bananas.

Hello Aww, you should have kept the bananas. When I buy them green, it is only a matter of a few days before they are ripened! But I believe there are a number of small things most people indeed find annoying! Karen

Yes! Small things used to frustrate me a lot. But the older I get the less likely I get frustrated with the small stuff. I've just learned to let it go, cuz if the small stuff gets you then the big stuff will kill you. The banana will turn yellow after a day or two. Let it go. Heres the thing. Will it kill you not to have a banana everyday? or With any situation the question will always be - Will it kill me not to have this or deal with this right now. Lessen your frustration, so I don't see you on the TV News, LOL. Merry Christmas.
