Do you always check your blind spots while driving?

It's amazing. I have friends who NEVER check their blind spots when changing lanes, and they NEVER EVER seem to get into accidents because of it. Myself, I'm a stickler for checking blind spots. As I don't understand why anyone would really chance it.
What about you? Do you typically check your blind spots?

hello maezee
I have given up driving after i had health issues, but i used to be very careful while i used to drive, i always checked for blind spots, hairpin bends to avoid accidents..
Thanks for sharing
Cheers.

Wow, I hate to say it, but your friends are driving disasters waiting to happen.
LOL
Yes, I always check my blind spots before changing lanes. It's just a good idea because we never know when a vehicle might be in this spot. I for one would rather play it safe then chance getting into an accident, but that's just me.
Happy mylotting!

I used to drive in Asia, where the blind spot is not such a big deal. I drove there for years, and I never had a problem. It does help that everybody there have a different sense of what is defensive driving.
Now that I am here in north america, I've re-learned driving, and have been particular at looking at my blind spot when driving.

The one time I didn't check my blindspot, I hit someone. Thankfully no one was hurt and only my car had some scratches on it. Easily fixable. So both myself and the other party involved not to bother reporting it. But I learned my lesson that's for sure.

...Most of the time =P But sometimes I feel like I check it too quickly and not long enough. On rare occasions, I don't check it or I don't check it well when I change lanes. I'm working on that though =] Yeah, I don't really want to take a risk either. I'm young and insurance costs A LOT.
