Yes, I, Grandpa Bob, actually had a HUGE cardio workout this morning. The photo attatched shows the reason for my cardio workout. So far I've gotten between 8 and 10 inches of snow. I live on an extensions street so when the main street gets plowed the snow is thrown onto my street. Then when they do my street the snow piles up at the end of my driveway. I had a pile about 3 feet tall of wet, sloppy, salty, sandy, heavy snow to clear. My mailbox shown in the photo is about 4 1/2 feet high so you can guess how much snow there was. The other side of my driveway is just as highly piled with snow from the driveway .Do you get cardio workouts unexpectantly like this?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

hi grandpa bob well if we did that would make big headlines
in the p apers, Southern Californians snowed under, two feet of snow in Garden Grove, people are being sent to the hospitals from heart attacks brought on by shoveling all this snow. Nope no snow here or any fun headlines. But on a serious note, Grandpa Bob be careful do not overdo while shoveling all that white stuff you call snow. Take it easy and stop occasionally as we all love
your discussions and do not want you to keel over. hugs from hatley.

It's amazing that so many people here have a heart attack
each winter from this type of work in their yards etc.
I take my time and do it until I get tired/winded.
Then I take a break and do more later when I feel better etc.
LOL I am back a bit here it seems huh?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

nope no workouts for me, and I am really afraid when my boyfriend shovels, I am afraid he is going to have a heart attack, he is not too strong and he is disabled as well.

Yes, I have had a few such cardio workouts already this winter. We don't have a snow blower so unless I want my car to be stuck in the drive way I have to get out there and shovel it, at least towards the bottom anyways. The snow ploy trucks make it really hard to shovel that area though as the snow just packs there, so I have to keep on top that.

Umm grandpa bob you do know that there are easy ways to get a cardio workout right???
I myself prefer jumping jacks....
That is an insane amount of snow and I know I am going to regret saying and so I will always be knocking on wood as i type this but I am glad we have not gotten snow like that so far this year. We have been really lucky especially since so many states having been getting pounded this year. I live in western Pennsylvania and we normally get a ton and a half of snow but the most we got is maybe 3 inches this year and yesterday it rained so it melted it all away and besides the few patches here and there and it being so cold I would think it was spring time...hopefully the snow is going to stay away for awhile so you don't get too much cardio exercise this winter.....stay warm

Wow Grandpa, that must have been some workout judging by what little of that 4 1/2 feet high mailbox is left showing! I don't envy you in the least! We just recently moved to this area and it gets a bit more snow than where we lived previously. When the first big snow came and the road crew came through the neighborhood we were surprised when the end of our driveway was blocked by a huge 2-foot wall of snow!!! We didn't even have a snow shovel and couldn't get the car out to go to the hardware store to get one! A kind neighbor lent us one and we shoveled our way out. We now one not one but TWO...so that hubby and I can shovel together!!

Not from snow. Usually mine involve removing recalcitrant children from my rocking chair!
