Something made you happy today?

I just wanted to share to all my myLot friends that something made me extra happy today! I got a letter from the mail from the President of the company that I work for(I guess he sent out one for all the employees). The letter just said that the reduction in salary we got in April this year will cease to effect. And that effective January 1, we(or I) will get my full salary back! Yey! I'm liking 2010 already! Sorry if I am a bit bragging, but I've been complaining all year about how the economy has made a negative effect on my financial situation. And this bit of good news is a sign that maybe the economy is indeed starting to turn. How 'bout you? Any good news to share?

I hope that doesn't mean you'll stop mylotting Bounce! I am happy to hear that you'll be getting your full salary back and I am sure your family is also very happy to hear of it as well! The good news that I have to share would be that I have a job. After two years, of I'll be honest, not looking hard enough, I found a job and had to wait a few months but was able to start before Christmas. I believe this will be my fourth week this coming week. It's definitely a change from not working and only mylotting, but a great one! Here's to all of us mylotters for this coming year! May we be able to afford all we need, and some of our wants as well!

Thanks SomeCowgirl! I've been one of those who's a little bit familiar about you getting a job, as I can remember one of your discussion here talking about your first day of work. Here's to us myLotters who strive a little harder. Happy new year to you as well!

We've been invited somewhere. Not sure yet if we'll go. If we go, then it'll save me from all preparations for new year's eve.

Well Bounce you already know my one piece of good news for the new year. But on the economic front things look better for us too. My husbands company is going to continue with some of their international work beyond the current job. If this job is succesful, and it looks like they are going to be, they will be the only company in the world that has accomplished this kind of directional drill and connection, which means continued work for all of them. Already some of the guys that had been laid off since summer have been called back to work..and that is good for everyone. The bonus coming with this jobs completion will be good for the bank account..so I am with you on thinking 2010 may just be a good year..I hope it will be for everyone.

Here's to the economy turning around. And that all that have been laid off will somehow find their way to jobs, if not their old one! Congratulations on your husband's job and company! Now, if we can only translate this turning around with our hockey teams... Then we'll have a better prospect for the playoffs! hehe.

It is indeed a good sign that something good is coming your way and hopefully the new year will make your dreams materialize. For me no news is good news. Until then I will remain positive now and for the coming new year. I hope lady luck will give me a broader smile next year.

I know what you mean zandi458, when you say no news is good news. This year at work, we kept asking everybody if there was any news. As if there were rumours or news about the company, it meant somebody was getting laid off. I was just happy that I survived, and maybe we're on our way back to recovery.

Whoa! That's awesome. It sucks that it had to happen in the first place, but luckily it was reversed! And you totally have the right to brag, that's such aweosme news I'm sure. I hope 2010 is a great year for you! And thanks for responding to literally all of my discussions. Now I'm going to try to return the favor. .

Something made me happy today. It's really simple but am happy and giddy at the thought. I went to Krispy Kremes this afternoon and had a New York cheesecake. I guess happiness is relative. A doughnut gave me simple joy today.

Today ,i have received two pair of boots (another is for my colleague)I bought on the website. The boots is the same as show on her shop.I like it.Because I really have not a suitable one to wear in the winter. My feet are so cold in the office. And my college classmate also received computer portable desk I sold(I open a shope on website)at the same time,it take 5 days because of bad weather. Now, I am very happy about it.

hi bounce58, Today i wake up felling happy and glad because beginning next year i'll be working in normal working hour and a raise as well.I'm looking forward to 2010 as a new challenge and a normal life. To be frank,i'd been working my whole life in shift work for more than 20 years & i guessed it really been a dull life. All my friends & families got a 9 to 6 working life & i'm the odd one.Everytime whenever there's an outing or gathering, everyone will be asking "Are you working this weekend" or What shift are you in this coming Friday". cheers, david tay

Good on you David! It is nice to have a raise at the start of the new year. It makes everything 'easier'. And add to it your normal working hours! Now you'll be sleeping more regularly too! Thank you also geniebus!

I understand you wanting to share that news with everyone. In this economy it is the kinda news you want to shout from the rooftops. Where I work we all got a 6 month freeze on our performance related increases and everyone was really bummed out about it, however with all the layoffs I was happy to still be holding onto my job. Thanks for sharing :) enjoy 2010

Thank you tazillyess94. I was one of the lucky ones who was not laid off in our company. We lost about 40% in manpower from January to April. I will enjoy 2010 a little bit better now.
