Do you use ideas from tv shows to decoratae your home?

I was watching HGtv, where they talk a lot about decorating ideas and makeover. I just wonder if general people use those ideas to decorate their home. I like some of their shows. Personally I can't use much of decorating ideas because of some limitations as we are in a apartment, and in apartment we are not allowed to make any changes. But I can't wait to get our own home and decorate the house nicely with those ideas I am learning from some of the tv shows.
Do you like to watch or learn about decorating home and apply those ideas to your own home?

Yes, HGTV is one of my favorite channels ,and I love to decorate my
house all the time. I love to keep everything organized and is good
to know that sometimes you can create a beautiful room with a budget.

I think HGTV is really good in this matter. Some of their designer can create a great looking home in such a low budget.

I have a couple of times in the past but it has been a long time since I have done anything like that. I could use some ideas, all my walls are white, and only my living room has any artwork in it, boring I know, but I am afraid to take risks, and I guess I prefer boring over tacky in case I make a horrible mistake.

I know what you are talking about. I think it is not very risky to play with color. May be you can try a light nice and inviting color on your walls.

I went through a period of time when I watched oodles of decorating shows nightly! I used many of the decorating ideas that I saw on the various shows. I have finally grown a bit weary of the decorating shows, but still watch an occasional episode! My husband is greatful that I have stopped watching as he was the poor sucker who had to help me rearrange furniture, paint and other decorating chores! I especially liked the shows that gave ideas that one could implement cheaply or with everyday items! I also love to see episodes where they repurpose items for something other than the item was originally intended!

Like you we live in an apartment so there are certain things we can't do but I do like to watch those shows and dream about doing all those things. Some of the things I do use and some I make note of so I can try them later.

Yes, sometimes I've discovered wonderful decorating tips by watching these shows. Another place where I get good ideas are in some of the women's magazines I read.

Good to know that you actually used some of those ideas from tv shows. I think if someone can spend some money and have interest to learn something new then they can really use ideas from tv shows or magazines.
