Did your parents buy you a brand new car, or did you scrape your pennies together for a hooptie ride? Did it have a cool nickname like the shaggin waggin, or the tank?

LOL My first car was a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass.. I wish I could find a picture to post on here, but I don't think I can! lol! It was white, not too bad looking, but had MANY MANY problems. After that one bit the dust (tranny issues - needed a new one, I think), I bought a 94 Dodge Shadow - purple. WORST CAR OF MY LIFE! I missed the Cutlass so bad . Now I have a maroon '94 Saturn SL1. It's not too bad, kind of jankity, makes a little bit of noise when I drive it that I know a car 5 years newer wouldn't. But what can you do?

My first car wasn't even a car, but a pickup truck. It was a 1953 Ford F-100 with a six cylinder and Automatic Transmission. It was Kelly Green which is very dark. I did not give it a name. I wish I still had it, though.

our first car was a '82 caprice and I hated it LOL. It was a huge boxy car with no visual appeal whatsoever. I'll forever be glad we had it though because that was the car my husband was driving when he was in a terrible accident and if he had been driving a smaller car or any of todays style vehicles he wouldn't be alive! There's something to be said for the "boats" of the past LOL

My parents got me my first car the year after I graduated high school. It was on July 4th (I guess at a July 4th car sale). It was a new Nissan Sentra - hatchback - champagne color . . . and it got me through many years until I was able to get my own car myself - and was able to hand it down to my sister. Naw, no cool names - it was just a practical car that went through many adventures!!

My first car was a 2001 Chevy Cavalier that I leased myself with tax money last year and totaled it in a accident on Dec.17 of last year which resulted in a broke left leg, dislocated left hip bone. I know you really didn't need to know all of that but it felt so good to get it out!! lol lol!!

I got my first car when I first got married. It was a cream colored Chevy Impala station wagon. It had no name. I have had Vanessa the van and a few others, cannot quite remember their names. Currently my brother and sister in law drive Ferdinand the van and Cora the Corrola. My husband I have now loves cars. At one point they tell me he owned every Pinto in the state of Rhode Island. We have four cars now and none of them cost us over $900 although we put money into all of them.

My first car was premier Padmini of fiat variety. It was a cute white car and compact for our 5 member family. I like it very much though I do not know how to drive a car. My husband or son will drive it for me.

...Hi tawny_24, My first car was a used Chevrolet Impala, which I paid for, but my mother co-signed for, and if I remember she wanted to claim as hers because she had co-signed for me. It was stolen and was no more good and was claimed as a total loss on my insurance. I then got a brand new Chevrolet, loved those Chevys, which also was stolen directly from outside my condo. My next car was a new Honda, which was my car of cars, because of the mileage efficiency. That one lasted me through one-hundred and thirty some miles I think. Take care.

I lived in a big metropolitan city so I didn't get a car until I could afford a new one. So through college, and even 2 years after I got a proper engineering job, I just rode cabs and public transport. Sometimes, I borrowed friends' cars to get around. So, finally when I had saved up to afford a downpayment, and was sure that I could afford the monthly's including insurance, I bought myself a Honda!

mummy and daddy never got me a car, i had to save hard for it. It was a bedford 110HD van in white. It was great as i could only do 60 mph in it. No radio in it so i hide a tapeplayer behind the seat.

I saved up money for years to buy my truck, a 20 year old ford ranger, aka the "Danger Ranger". I had to do a ton of work on it, which I did myself, and now it's still ugly, but it is a really reliable vehicle.
