HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE & ALLLL!!! OK, now to the serious stuff... Since there is NO exciting news happening during this time of year, I've noticed that the news reporters are having a terrible time thinking of something to say. So, the question of the day is...do we continue to speak the year as Two Thousand Ten ***OR*** do we now say Twenty Ten??? I know here on myLot it doesn't make a hill of beans which way we speak it. However, eventually I will be forced to leave my safe little world of myLot & venture out into the "REAL" world. Not wanting to look anymore ignorant than I've already managed to accomplish, I want to know how are we going to speak the name of this year & why will it be spoken that way??? I find this to be the MOST important question of the day!!! Maybe I can enlighten my local news station!!! (giggles)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO!!! I had not given it any thought myself. That is, until I heard every live show I was watching making a BIG deal out of saying Twenty Ten. That's when I realized that I had been saying Two Thousand Ten. I will probably continue to say Two Thousand Ten until a larger majority of the general population switch over. Then I still might remain the oddball!!!

I heard bits and pieces about this on the news yesterday. there seems to be some controversy as to what people think we should say for 2010. I will say two thousand ten or 20 10 or 2010..

I've been saying Two Thousand Ten out of habit. Actually, I don't care how they say it.....just pick a way & say it instead of making a BIG deal out of it every time they need to speak the year!!!

Hi LadyMarissa, You have a valid question, I used to say 2009 as (two thousand nine) and i feel that i will call 2010 as (two thousand ten).. I never thought like you I have no idea why we started calling it in that way. I think you are great hinker to think like that. ... Happy new year

Hi, LadyMarissa. I will speak it as two thousand and ten. That will be my name for it. I will speak The New Year's just as I have been normally doing. It is just a New Year to me. I will write the year as 2010.

Yes, it is just a New Year. One that I had intended to say as Two Thousand Ten as I had spoken from the beginning of this century. However, I think I'm seeing a trend of change. I have noticed as myLot goes so goes the world!!!
