I hope my hockey cohorts are getting a chance to take in at least some of the winter classic. Fenway Park looks glorious all dressed up for outdoor hockey and all of the guys playing look like they are 12 years old!! This game is one of my favorites this year. I don't care who wins..if forced to choose..Boston..but I don't care. I can take down my tree while watching the game and not have to worry about fragile ornaments in the event of a bad call or errant goal! Pronger still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but so far he seems to be having so much fun he has forgotten he is a #@#@.

I don't care who wins either. We just got to the hotel and have about a couple hours before my son's game so I can see the rest of the game!! I can't get over how nice the ice looks! This is great for the game of hockey.

Happy New Years to you to! I think that is the best ice surface I've ever seen for a Winter Classic!

The best weather too..Tim Thomas grew up here in Michigan, he has palyed many games outside, I keep thinking of all those games these guys played on ponds when they were kids, pretending to be in the NHL.

Happy New Year! The day is too good to mention that a$$hole! Even though it would have been better if The Flyers won. I Hate, hate the Flyers so I was rooting for The Bruins. What a finish! What a nice way to start the new year.

That was a highlight. To see all those kids , big and small, black and white , all there to introduce the Olympic team! It was great.

Yes it was a good start. I was glad to see Boston win too. I really like charra and Tim Thomas. I loved the way they announced the us olympic team. Can you imagine hw thrilled those kids were to be there and then for Tim Thomas to skate their line and shake all their hands! What a good guy he was today in and out of goal.

Hi jewels, I want to join in but I don't think we have ice hockey over this side of the pond at all. It looked quite vicious though when I saw it in 'Love Story', is that how it still is these days? I'd probably like it because the only sport I've ever watched is ice skating. Oh and that fake wrestling but we don't get that on TV over here, used to be good fun though.

Thea! I do so appreciate your effort, especially when I know how full the bunny left your plate. Hockey can be rough, the biggest difference in it and wrestling is that hockey is real!! If you watch skating you might come to appreciate hockey, one game and you realize just how well these guys need to skate.

It was a great game. I noticed the NBC feed was delayed a couple seconds from the CBC broadcast. I loved the part when Dennis Leary led the crowd in singing Sweet Caroline, although only a few in the crowd got into it and it petered out. Of course that's the good and bad of television. If the cameras were focused only on the people singing, then it would have created the illusion that everyone was singing.

It was a great game! I watched the first 2 periods, and then I had to drive for some errands. I heard the 3rd period on radio. I would have liked to see Dennis Leary leading the crowd singing Sweet Caroline, in what would be the equivalent of the 7th inning stretch. Luckily I saw the OT when I got back. I loved it too, and didn't care who won. I specially liked the comment on NBC about the day getting dark, casting shadows on the ice. And that the players were just like kids where any minute their moms would be calling them for dinner.
