I just freaked myself out!

I usually stay downstairs for awhile after the kids go to bed and just relax and enjoy the silence and alone time. That is what I was doing this evening when I freaked myself out. I got up to go to the bathroom. Walked down the hall and into the bathroom. I just happened to look into the mirror that is just across from the door and for a split second it looked like there was someone behind me and it freaked me out momentarily. Well, ofcourse it was just my shadow. Have you ever been vurtually alone in the house and something like this happened that freaked you out? I am always looking for things to happen so I think I bring it on. What about you?

I'm fine as long as I don't watch unsolved mysteries, a horror show, or anything where someone sneaks up on someone and does something horrible to the person. But if I watch any of that stuff, look out, I'm freaking out at every little noise, sight, sound, feeling, taste, any of my senses freaks me out.

Oh I've done something like that before. Turned off the light in the bathroom and have my head slightly turned so that I sort of see myself in the mirror. then I do a quick reverse and double take, it freaks me out for a second, lol. Usually I run when I get freaked out, I run out of the room, or through the darkened spots of the house.

I can understand that, for some reason we have a way of creeping ourselves out more, a fleeting scary thought can last longer then the actual scare!

I think that most of us have had similar experiences, celticeagle.Could it be that you maybe saw one of the "shadow people?" I've sometimes been alone and all of a sudden some movement on the periphery of my vision will attract my attention, only to disappear when I turn my head. Really spooky, huh!

hi celticeagle I did that too one night when my son was working all night at his job because there were some models or something that his boss had to have done so he could take them to New York with him that next morning on the plane. so every time I heard a noise I would get up and go investigate. of course they were all explainable but still I would freak out, once my prowler was the man next door putting his car away, another weird noise was simply a branch rubbing against the screen window in my bedroom. I dont think I really slept much until My son got home About four thirty or five in the morning. wow. what a night And all the noises were very benign too. then when my neigbor knocked on my door I just let my son who had not gone to bed yet get it. at last I did go to sleep.

Hey celtic! I am lmao! I have done stuff like that many times! One night I was lying in bed and I could have sworn there was this weird "ghost like shadow" on the bedroom ceiling! It just wouldn't go away! I kept telling my boyfriend who was sleeping and totally not interested! It wasn't your normal "shadow" or I wouldn't have been that freaked out! I was actually terrified! Now, I have these weird "sixth sense feelings" and stuff and to this day I still don't know what that was about, but I watched it all night!lol

I have had several of those frozen moments. You read the one about my grandson seeing the ghosts of my mom and grams, right? That was weird.
