Is Cranberry Juice really all that?

I have heard lots about cranberry juice and how healthy it is. Do you think it is all it is made out to be? Is it all a bunch of hype? I think I've heard that it is beneficial but you have to drink like a gallon or so for it to be that good for you. Do you drink cranberry juice? Do you know how good it is (or isn't) for us?

Hi. I used to suffer from bladder infections on a regular basis. Then I started using cranberry juice. As soon as my bladder felt uncomfortable, I would start drinking cranberry juice, a cup every 4 hours, I also eat the fresh or dried berries. Apparently the nutrients in the juice help to stop infections imbedding in, and inflaming the bladder walls, letting the infectious agents just flush out of the bladder. You also need to drink a reasonable amount of plain water to help with the flushing. I very seldom get bladder infections now. Hope this helps.

I forgot that they are available in dried form as well. That's pretty new just in the last few years. I know water helps a lt. I have tried taken the pills also.

I think they are good if natural fruits not as commercialize product. If it is a product technology then expect incomplete absorption of nutrients as compared to natural fruits. The juice is additional helpful to one's body but suitable to all people. There are some people who has peptic ulcer or other illnesses where all products to cause hyper acidity are restricted. Juices can contribute to hyper acidity as well. Too much acidity is not good for the body.It depends on the person to take the said juice.

True, we have to watch acidity which can cause problems. I suppose if you have other conditions it could be more harmful than helpful. It always pays to be careful.

Yes, I do believe it's "all that." Cranberry juice makes a slippery surface in your bladder that makes it difficult for bacteria to gain a hold, so that it helps eliminate them from your system. Besides which, it's high in Vitamin C and other nutrients. No one thing can do everything, but cranberry juice is good for kidney and bladder infections.

I've taken cranberry pills before. I'm not sure how beneficial they were but I enjoy the juice too. I haven't tried it with lime in it though. I have heard it was good for bladder infections, but you have to drink a ton of it to get the benefit! Don't know how much we actually need for it to be that good for us.

Hey man, Yes I drink cranberry juice. But among the other berries it does not stand.Such as the Goji berry.Yes it does have phytochemicals that fight against cancer, detoxifies the body and cleans the kidneys but so do other more powerful antioxidants. The problem is with cranberry juice to really ascertain the effect of it in your body you need to drink a large amount each day and this may be a problem to some because of its taste and price. You can do the next thing which is to take it in capsule form but I suggest something different. Take a more potent antioxidant blend that is organic and affordable (actually you can get it free when you network with the company). It even comes in vegetable capsules and is all organic. To find out how to access this product and many other potent natural products check out my link below http://www.squidoo.com/Best-Health-Supplements Yours In Health and Wealth, Jonathan Khan.

Personally I have heard that Cranberry Juice is actually very beneficial especially in women for Urinary tract help, and can help prevent and help with infections. I have also heard that it is Good for other things as well. Personally since all juices are high in Sugar, unless they are the Low sugar ones I have to avoid this due to being Diabetic, but when I find it necessary to drink one they have other flavors now that I prefer the most.
