Hi everybody!! I'm sorry for not being on here in such a while but I've taken your advice and took some time out for myself and I feel sooooo much better!! But deg gone it, I've missed you guys!! I really have!! I mean, I've been on here in spurts of here and there but not regularly but I'm hoping to be more active once again but between cross stitching and normal every day issues, I'll be here as much as I can but please know, I haven't forgotten ANY of you!! Got it?! lol You won't believe what has happened to us yesterday!! We took down our tree or so we say, we just take down all the ornaments and leave the lights on the tree and the tree in tact and take it upstairs and put it in the storage room up there. We've been doing this for the past three years and find it much easier to do this way. Well, hubby had the bottom of the tree and I had the top, which isn't the way we did it before and all of the sudden, the top breaks off!! Hubby thought it wasn't broke but just came apart but I told him no it's broke because it snapped where the metal and wood come together. A perfectly good tree with no top. Lovely. So we went shopping in hopes to find another one on sale but they were all gone. I did look online but all the prices are waaaaay up there, even the sale prices are OMG!! HIGH!! So that idea is out. I told hubby that we could save this tree and tape it together for next year and wait till after Christmas to buy a new one when the sales are on again. He wants to just get rid of it by giving it to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans)so they can repair it and sell it to help them and other poor out and we could use our small table tree next year so I agreed, that would be a perfect thing to do. There's more to tell and I'll do it in another discussion so hold on to your seats folks! It's a doozer!!

I'm so beat up mentally that I honestly don't know which end is up and which is down. I'm serious. And to try to explain it all is next to impossible. THAT's the real reason for my not being on here. Plus the last two days have me fit to be tied. ARG!! But as usual, I'll make it through. I've done it before and I'll do it again as so long as I don't have a stroke or heart attack along the way..... Am I in need of a pity party? LOL

I am glad you took time out for yourself. I am surprised you couldn't find a tree anywhere. It sounds like it has been a very busy time to yourself though.

Yes, I've been quite busy lately and it's not about to let up either. I sure wish it would though. I know you know what I'm talking about because of what you and your son are going through, it seems to never end. We'll get another tree next year but this time it's going to be a prelit and it falls to the floor for easy clean up and putting away.

That sort of reminds me of the time my large dog was sleeping under the tree, she stood up and as the tree was going to fall...I reached out and grabbed it. Well I grabbed the top part of the tree, it came loose from the bottom. if you can imagine, me standing there holding the top part of the tree in one hand, the bottom part of the tree is sort of on its side but with the string of lights and garland thats still attached to the top. it was a sight to see. I sort of put the tree back together and tried to fix it. oh well, I always thought the tree was the animals too. I have lots of Christmas tree stories to tell. I put up a tree and the critters all look at me like...Thanks ma for making us a new playground. I cheated this year, instead of putting up my big tree. I had one of those spial trees. I set that up, that didn't last long with my wild animals, it took them two days to destroy it. They chewed thru the nylon cord that held it up. I have 4 big cats cooped up in the house, they are wild animals I tell you.

You are crafty, maybe you could make a Christmas tree for next year. I am with hubby, donate it to someone who can fix it. I bet you will find a good tree the day after Thanksgiving, at a really good price. The year I bought an artificial tree I bought a 7 foot tree for thirty five dollars.

LOL I love doing crafts. I really do. I made my mom a flower basket earlier this year and decided to try making myself one and did a really great job! I'm really impressed with myself and am thinking of making more to sell. We'll have to see. You found a 7 foot tree for $35.??!! Wow! Where?! Damn! That's an awesome price!! I'll be on the lookout for it once you tell me where you got yours from!
