My TV Die On Me!

Just when I had decided to treat myself to a much-needed new laptop my bedroom TV clunked out on me! This is a bad start tio the new year for me because I really cannot afford to buy a new one. I've been asking around to see if someone had an old one they wanted to sell. My TV in mt bedroom is my primary one because it is where I spend most of my time.I hope you'll all pray that I will get one before the start of the new season of 24.

Here's hoping you are able to get another tv soon. I had two in a row go out on me and finally broke down and got me a new HDTV. It is small but very nice and I am enjoying it very much. I know what it is like to go without one because I am sick some of the time and it is so nice to have one in my room. I also do my work in there.

I really am most comfortable in my bedroom, celticeagle, and I keep most of the things I like to enjoy in there. I will manage to get another TV soon, hopefully.

Problem solved, celticeagle. I picked up one for a song today and brought it home. It shows perfectly. I think the new LCDs and Hi-Defs, or whatever, have driven the price of regular TV sets down to rock bottom. The one I got is as good as the one in my living room, just not as large.

Same here. Plus I have panic attacks and don't venture out at times at all. Trying to do better and do make an effort to go down stairs. This is one reason i have a laptop cause I use it on my bed. Hope you get a tv soon. Is there any place around there where you could put one on layaway?

If you don't need a fancy one, Salvation Army usually sells them really reasonable. Ours even lets them go 1/2 price on their 1/2 price days. You may also check Craigslist, and find one because someone is moving or really needs money.

Thanks, Thoroughrob. My daughter was telling me last night that she found a really nice one at the thrift store recently for under $100. I am going to check into it soon.

We bought a 27 inch at for 12.50 on half price day. We plugged it in there just to make sure it would come on. It works fine and we have used it over 9 months.

I tend to do most everything in my bedroom, gabs, so that is why I missed it so much. I was lucky to find one immediately when I went out today!

Sorry to hear about your TV dying on you. As a few others here have suggested maybe the Salvation Army or Craigslist might have something on the cheap and available...also there is freecycles.com. Hope you can get one soon

I'm having a hard time getting used to so much quiet, pyewacket! My daughter left last night and that means there isn't any noise coming from the living room either. I've been listening to the radio some, but even that gets old after awhile. I promise that I will have a TV by Monday!

I had resigned myself to the fact that I wasn't going to get anything fancy for the price I could afford, pyewacket, but I was nearly knocked off my feet when I found one for under $30.00! I've got to get out more often!

Isn't that the way it always goes? You spend money on something you want and something you need breaks down. I hope you get something real soon.

I don't have spare TV, I sold 2 of them not long time ago. What is new season of 24 if I can ask? I don't watch TV, so I am ignorant...

24 is the continuing saga of Jack Bauer, pola, an off-and-on government agent who saves the world (almost) with each new season!

HI, I thought a TV is cost around $200-$300 right? I see many good stuff on sale... so check them out and you will find the good one at cheap price.

Hey Chica no one ever told you that once you buy one thing, fate takes another away. Just another one of life's cruel jokes. Listen I am going to send you a private message. Look out for it. I think I can help you. No worries my dear friend. dl

Oh my so sorry to hear that ,I know that must be hard and not a great way to start the new year .I hope you get one soon because even if its a used one at least for the time being .I was wondering though if you had another one you could move from somewhere else for the time being to stop that gap until you get the new Tv or move the living room where the other Tv is just for the interim.

If push comes to shove can't you watch TV on your computer? I'm sure the show "24" will have full episodes on the website like so many other shows do. If not I hope you get a new or used TV as soon as possible. Good luck to you.

I could watch some shows on my computer, lelin, but then I wouldn't be able to keep up with my online games(which I enjoy so much), so I'll have to be content with the radio until at least Monday.

oh no..that's sad. I always watch Glee, Gossip Girl, LAink and other tv series I like. Without seeing them, my day will not be complete. I really hope that new blessing will come your way and hopefully you can have your new tv or have it repaired without spending too much.

Sorry that I can't recommend any movies for you, anydayroyal, but I tend to like action and drama. I actually spend most of my day in my bedroom because it is my comfort zone.
