what is a computer logically.i have one example compute+r in this compute means a work or calculation and r is plural that means computer is a multi tasking device or multi calculate hi speed device.can u tell me like this any more

a computer is nothing but a calculator. a calculator which is ahead of your normal calculator by leaps and bounds. a calculator which can do calculations beyond mans imagination. funniest thing is man created a computer but a computer is more intelligent than a man haha

u got it right sathya264, it is derived from to compute meaning to calculate. If you trace the history of computers it goes back to the abacus - used by the chinese, Pascals adding machine and Charles Babbage's difference engine. They were/are all used to do mathematical calculations. Thats where the modern computer evolved from. Charles Babbage is called the father of modern computers but i dont really know who coined the word computer.
