Do you dogs try to cheer you up?

My dogs know when im sad and will act especially silly to make me laugh. For example I was sitting on the couch the other day feeling sad and my dogs started playing with there ball by them self right in front of me jumping around and acting silly, every time I would laugh they would stop and look at me and then start doing it again. It was like they where trying to cheer me up! Am I crazy, do your dogs do this?

That is what is so wonderful about dogs. No matter what kind of mood you are in or how bad of a day you have had, they are always happy to see you tales wagging. Always ready for a hug. My dog would always seem to know when I was sad too. She would always come over and push my hand up with her head for me to pet her or if I was standing she would come and stand between my legs until I pet her and huggerd her. She was such an awesome dog, I miss her so much.

ahh, dogs just know when we are sad and want to cheer us up, I guess. I guessing she passed away? You should get another doggy!

Mine do, if i'm crying or sad or what not she'll come and get up in my face and try to lick me, or just cuddle with me. When she's doing something bad, she knows it and gives me her sad face and makes me giggle, then she knows she off the hook lol

My dogs have a sad face too. I can just say "bad dog" and they give me a sad look!

My dogs dont act silly any more than usual when I'm obviously down but they are most definately more attentive when I am...they generally wont leave my side and they give kisses etc etc..

aww, thats sweet! if mine aren't trying to cheer me up they will be right at my side trying to figure me out and giving me lots of kisses too!

Hello, I don't really know if my dog is trying to cheer me up. But sometimes when she is bored, she comes to me and starts to pitch me with her nose and it's really funny. Sometimes if I am sad my boyfriend says to our dog to come and cheer me up, then she comes and does something funny and after that I am always in a good mood

I believe she is trying to cheer you up, probably understands what your boyfriend means when he tells her to cheer you up too.

It's the opposite with me. When my dog is sad and not smiling at me I would cheer him up and play with him. I would pinch his nose, crampled his face and tag his fat cheeks.

yeah i cheer my dogs up too, maybe they get it from me.. haha
