I've tried hot water, hot honey water, cold medicine and cough drops. And I'm still coughing. It doesn't hurt that much but when I go to class, it disrupts the professor's lecture and when I sleep, I wake up coughing. Help anyone?

How long have you been coughing? It's possible you may need an antibiotic if you've been sick for a long time. Have you tried gargling with salt water a few times a day? I'm guessing you have a lot of post nasal drip that is causing your cough. You need to clear it out with drinking a lot of water and other liquids.

I've been coughing for two weeks now. It might be bacterial since when I visited home for Christmas, my cousin was coughing a lot. She might have given it to me. I'll take antibiotics if I can get my hands on any and I'm drinking lots of water. Thanks for your help.

Glad to hear, but please if for some reason that cough comes back again, make sure to let it be checked. We do not want you to get sick now, do we? Have a nice day.

As there are so many remedies, you can try all of them untill next year chritmas, you will still have this probem. I know you have to attend classes, by the sound of it. But don.t you think you should rather go and see your doctor. If not, give the chemist a try, they normally give you something that will help.

Yes, I realize there are a lot of remedies out there that cures coughing but I've tried all the ones I know and I'm still coughing and has been coughing for 2 weeks. Maybe if it doesn't heal, I'll really need to see a doctor or something. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hello Saphrina! Thanks so much for your concern. It's been two weeks and I finally stop coughing. I had took your advice and went to seek medical help. All we had was a nurse on campus but she assured me it was nothing serious even though the cough lasted so long and gave me tea and cough drops which helped a bit. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks again.

Like the previous post, I would like to know how long have you been coughing, and have you ever had fever in the evenings. What is your weight and height, and have you been losing weight? Has your diet been proper of late? You might need serious medicines, if your cough creates a specific type of flem. If it has been around for more than 2 weeks then you do need to get blood tested, and ESR, and protein test, may be even a chest x-ray. So approaching doctor would be right.

Wow, I didn't know it could be so serious. I haven't lost weight but I did take my temperature because I've been having night sweats. It came out to 98.8 which I don't really think it that much of a deal. I'll be careful though. Thanks for your help.
