I've never been in a management position, so I can say, I've never had to fire anyone. My husband had to fire people at his old job. He really hated doing it. His boss would come to him and tell him to fire so and so. She didn't want to do it herself, so she would make him do it. It was really hard on him. He would worry about it all night long the night before. He wouldn't be able to sleep. He really felt for the people who worked for him. He didn't want to hurt them in anyway.

I have but the person was being beligerant and refusing to do his job, and then when asked nicely to do something just absalutely blew up, he was screaming and carrying on and acting a full right in front of everyone. I had no choice but to fire him on the spot and ask him to get his things and leave the premisis right away. So it was not hard and I didn't have a lot of time to think about it and feel bad about it or anything it was just really scary and really quick, and I had to call security to escort him out.
