In this age and time, I guess most people would barely find time for collecting hobbies! But it can be fun and rewarding at the same time! Do you have one? I have been collecting stamps and coins since childhood. My collecting habits have changed considerably over time, and now I collect only classic stamps and coins from old times, say 19th century or early 20th century. They carry a lot of historic value, and makes you learn a lot too. Exchanging with fellow collectors can be worthwhile. And they build up an asset for bad times too! Values of coins and stamps increase with time, and if you spend your time and resources judiciously, you can build up an entire vault of treasure to sell at a higher value later on! What do you think?

I only collect two things. I like to get classic books by Christian authors. So I have a lot of old books around. I also collect thimbles. I've been doing it for years now and soevery time I go somewhere new I try to find a thimble from there.

I have a couple of antique thimbles. One was my great-grandma's. It's very small because her hands were small and it has her initials on it. The other antique one I have my friend gave to me. She had an antique shop and she knew I would enjoy it! I have them from all the states I have been to in the US.

Wow! Thimbles! That's something I've never heard of anyone collecting, but it must be wonderful. There are so many different kinds of them out there with different size, shapes and metal. I would be interested to collect Antique Thimbles if I knew where to find them.

During my college years I was into collecting stamps. In fact, I had a small note where I pasted my stamps. My stamps were taken from the envelopes of letters I received from friends and relatives from another country or region. But when internet socialization have started there were few to no more letters received so no stamps to keep anymore.

I have never been a big collector myself, but my fiance used to be. He has a collection of coin, toy cars, and a whole bunch of sport cards. I think that all his collection and very neat and wish I would have done something like that. I think having a collection is rewarding knowing you collected all that stuff!

Yeap! Looking at all the stamps I've collected over the years gives me the kind of feeling I don't get from anything else. Sometimes when I have time, I do research on them and find out interesting stuff about the countries' history and geography!

I think one can always find some time for hobbies, I do. I am interested in mumismatics and philately too.Infact, I use mylot money exclusively to buy coins on ebay! My coin collection is comprehensive with respect to coins minted in India from the 80's to now. It greatly bother me if I miss a coin from this period. They do carry historic value, however, for me the joy lies in seeing my collection grow I have neverbeen able to part with a peice of my coin collection, ot matter how many peices of a kind I have. So I dont know weather I will eer be able to make profit from them. By the way, do let me know if you are interested in exchanging coins.

Before, when I saw my classmate collecting stamp I did collect it too. But I did not continue it when I became busy on my studies. I collect new one peso coin and new ten peso coin and put on my piggy can. I do not have weird stuff to collect. I collect spongebob merchandise and pictures of my crushes hahahahaha. That is my collection. I agree, if you collect things, the value grow bigger as time goes by. The perfect collection are those things that comes from the past.

Hi GreenGiant! When I was a kid, I used to have penpals from different countries so we exchange coins. Since then I've been a coin and stamp collector. I also collect beanie beans. I got more than a hundred now. Collecting things is fun and they also add up to my room's beautification. Happy mylotting!

Hi, I collect sports cards whether it be NASCAR, Football, Baseball, Basketball or Hockey. I have a ton of game used cards whether they be game worn jersey, game used bat, etc, I also have a ton of signed cards including a lot of signed rookie cards. I love the signed rookie cards because they'll only ever be a rookie once! and soon they might be very hard to come by. I also have a ton of common cards but I like some of those cause their cool too. I am a huge NASCAR fan as well so I love to collect die cast cars whether they be the 1:64 scale which is the smaller size or a bigger size which is a 1:24 scale. I especially love the cars which look exactly like the car in victory lane if it's a race won scheme. I love collecting these items cards and die casts because they could all be worth a lot of money one day, especially the rare cards and cars I find, I'm very good at spotting a good deal on say eBay and know I'll be able to make a profit from it one day in the future.

I really don't collect anything. I've been thinking about it for awhile about how people tend to collect lots of things but I don't really collect anything. There are things that I like but it's not like I make it a point to get as many of them as I can or anything. I keep wondering if there is something I should attempt to collect because I feel like I could really use a new hobby as I've really got none. I guess I sort of feel a bit strange for not having a collection of some kind of some sort of hobby!

I collect water globes or snow globes, whichever you call them. As a kid I always loved them and when I went on my first vacation (Vegas) when I was in ninth grade I bought three. From there people realized I liked them and my collection has grown a ton. I now have about 45 of them and I don't mind because they are so pretty and now many of them have special meanings such as a vacation or the person who gave them to me.

Hi GreenGiant, Back in high school I collected stamps, most of them are local, a few some are stamps from other countries. I also collected pocketbooks, mostly love stories, suspense and detective stories(Sherlock Holmes among favorites). My most favorite is my collection of quotations from people. I have a notebook (which I decorated myself) where I listed down quotes from famous and non-famous people. It's still in the old house where I spent my childhood.

I enjoy buying and selling football cards as a hobby, the market really has highs and lows and if you know how to play them it can be just as profitable as any other industry.

I collect elephants, so I don't think they'll suddenly be worth a lot of money ;-) I have quite a lot of stamps too, but I don't really collect them as they're not sorted. I plan sorting them to try to sell some, because as it is not they're only wasting space.
