If someone is annoying you,what do you do?

How do you react,maybe out in public and someone is doing something that annoys you?For example if you're riding the subway and someone keeps stepping on your foot repeatedly?I'm just wondering what you would say or do?Do you confront the person?There are alot of annoyances out there in public.

I just block them out. I've got a lot of good practice with tuning people out when I'm really not in the mood to listen to them or deal with them. I think I've gotten such good practice from tuning my mother out all the time whenever I'm not interested in listening to her.

java09 I would say to the person who keeps stepping on my foot, excuse me, but would you mind getting off my feet ,I might need to use them when I get off the subway. thanks. and say it again if it happens again. If you do not stick up for your self in public who else will? you must not let people walk all over you
as thats not any good.
