Electric bill, cable bill, rent, insurance payments, WHEN DOES IT END!?

I am so stressed right now! Tomorrow, I am paying 50.00 dollars for my pet deposit in the new apartment, 50.00 dollars to a hospital bill. Throughout the next week, I am paying 500 dollars for rent, 60.00 dollars for electric, 250.00 for car insurance, 106.00 for cable. WHEN DOES IT END!? I just moved to Knoxville, from Jacksonville FL. I was working, but decided that wasn't the job for me, and left. I am SO tired of BILL COLLECTING. It's so stressful. I have an interview tomorrow, and hopefully will get the job. But, will I ever have time to just SIT AND RELAX, and not have to constantly worry about bills!? I am going to go INSANE.

Hi, Romaniac Yes, it will never end. Right now, I have some pending bills and more to come but I have decided to be calm about it. Later, I will list them all down and see how much I need for this month. This way I can control the ins and outs of my funds. I am trying to be positive and hopeful that I will get through this. As for you, Romaniac, I wish you will do good with your interview tomorrow. The bills may never stop coming but I hope you can finally sit down and relax knowing that you can get through them also. Have a nice day!

hi romaniac, It will never end! I am so stressed as well, I need to pay all my bills on the end of this month. Most of it are utility bills like electric bill, water, cable, phone, internet, credit card etc.. Thinking about it makes my nose bleed! hahaha! I'm also worried about some of my expenses apart from those bills. Gotta take care of my dad's medicines and other needs at home. It's crazy! But I don't lose hope. I know in time everything will be alright! I am thankful that I am able to pay all of this and hopefully to have some extra money to have a more peaceful mind (if you know what I mean..lolz) I have a regular job that I am so thankful for, without it I will completely lose my mind seeing those bills. I hope that you will get the job soon! and I know you will! I will pray for it romanic. Just do your best and believe in yourself! ...and I know everything will be great. :) happy mylotting!

Bill paying end when you die...technically...even then it doesn't end because you owe taxes. Once you get that new job you could have you bills paid directly out of your bank account so you are paying your bills but not feeling like you pay your bills.

Bills are stressfull. Mylot helps me clear my mind. The bills will be there but we can't let them rule who we are. They don't rule us.

romaniac welcome to the club of stressed out p eople with bills and bills and more bills. where on earth do you live that your rent is only 500 dollars? We would kill almost that is to get rent that low on a two bedroom apt. surely you do not live in Southern california where you get stuck with 1200 dollars as month for a cruddy two bedroom apartment. oh you are lucky that you have the money for those bills, my son is still out of work. Why on earth with the economy the way it is did you leave a job, evenif you hated it, before getting another one? thats close to folly here in Calif. No you will not go insane and why do you pay 100 some dollars for cable, time warner cable as much less expensive packages, talk to them. if you are out of work you should try to cut some of your bills. Hope you do get that job at once Romaniac. be glad you get it when you do and say a prayer for people like myson who is out trying to get a decent job while I sit here in this retirement center and wish I was back in the apartment we were evicted from.see things could be worse for you after all. take care.good luck ace that job.

I live in Knoxville, TN. It's a one bedroom apartment. 500SQ Feet. The employment rate is a little better here. I pay 100.00 dollars for cable because comcast ripped me off. They told me the internet was going to be 15.00 dollars less than what it is, they never told me there was going to be a monthly fee to use a modem, they told us the instalation fee was going to be 30.00, when really it was 60.00. But thank you so much, for your response. I know I should be thankfull for what I have, I will say a prayer for yourself, and your son.

My husband and I are going to try to find a house to rent when we have the money to do so mostly because we don't want to have to pay all the dues just to rent an apartment. We realize that we'll most likely have to pay first and last month's rent when we move into a house for rent, but we're not too concerned with that. If we could find one we'd like to get a rent to own type place, or maybe just rent and then eventually if we've been there for so long the owner of the house will let us just buy it, who knows. Before I met my husband I had accrued some debt, and so I know how stressful it can be. We paid it off before we got married, but it was a stressful time just trying to find the money to do so. Now we're on top of our bills, and pay one particular bill as often as we can and in advance, we'll be paying that particular bill of at the end of this month some time. Just being here on mylot, I've learnt a great deal about how to be frugal and save money. A lot of people here like to shop at the hand me down stores, and when I can I like to do so as well because there are usually some great things there, things people just had for so long and finally decided to give away. Putting away a little money when you can for bills later is a great way to cut stress back. My husband and I are actually saving now for a place of our own, we plan to save for a year I believe and then look and see how much we have, and if we can in fact move then or not. It also depends on if I have a job of course. Best of luck to you and hope you are well settled in in Knoxville.

well i hope you find a new job soonest! moving into a new state is never easy! when we moved it was always within the same town, so although stressful (especially with little kids!) it is still easier! as for bills, my hubby has been off since august and so we know about those for sure!!

Paying bills will never unless you opt to live without light, water, house, etc .. . The thought of paying is so stressful because you are thinking more of the money that will be spent. .. . What if you instead think of the pleasure you had for using all those amenities? Maybe, in that way, you will not be so stressed out .. .

Hi Romaniac, If it's any consolation, you are not alone in your predicament, I guess almost all of us adults have bills to pay. I try to split all my payables in to two, on the 15th I pay the electric bill, telephone and cable, the nanny, a credit card. End of the month I pay the water bill, set aside for the groceries and gas. It never ends. Prepare yourself for that interview and you're good to go. Well of course, you should find time to sit back and relax, you deserve it - we all do.

Hey there, You are so not alone and I'm right along side of you on that insane train. My husband is disabled, he has muscular dystrophy and collects some Social Security and I have a nine year old daughter who is autistic and I collect a little SSI for her but that is the extent of our income and our bills have gotten so far behind that we simply cannot catch up. I fell off of a ladder in 2007 at work and the owner of the company did not have Worker's Compensation Insurance so I have been involved in a lawsuit with him for the past 2 years. I now finally have gotten the medical benefits so I can see the Doctor but he say's no work for me right now(it's my back that is shot). I am waiting on him to stop appealing so that I can receive some "back-pay" from them. I too really wish this would end. If we could just get out of this hole that we fell in we could make it work...just barely but we could, I wish we could just catch up. I don't need millions of dollars but enough to get by comfortably would certainly be a blessing. Good luck and chin up my friend we are in this together. Kim

I lost my car insurance this month and our water got shut off yesterday and I was only able to pay te landlord half the rent for the month.. UGH.. I don't know either what I am going to do.. My dad always helped me out when and if we fell behind but sadly he passed away in July so now I am truly on my own.. well with my husband too but I think you get the point.. Well I guess it would stop when you stop using their services. Even if you win the lotto and have all the money in the world bills would follow you everywhere. So do not get stressed with it because its part of our lives to have that to enjoy the convenience of electricity, water and even our roof. They are the price to pay for the services they give to us.

It's part of life. It may never go away but we can lessen it. If you are willing to sacrifice convenience you can try letting go of some of the things that you can live without any way. Or you can just consume less. But these are things easier said than done. So its really up to you. Goodluck.

Hello Romaniac, Im so sorry you're so stressed out. You need to calm down. Believe that life has a way to make it all better. I'll pray for you tomorrow so your interview goes well and you get the job and you LIKE it. Yes bills are never ending and everything will become even more expensive as time goes on. Were I live, nearly everything is going up in price: City taxes, income taxes, electric, cable, phone, clothes and foods and lets not forget gas!!! The best way to not panic is to make a budget. You spend only what you can afford to spend. Im really sorry you were mislead with your cable company, maybe there are some type of measures you could take against them?

The sad thing about bills is it never stop. Within this week I need to pay rental bill, electric and water bill, 3 phone bills (1 for my hubby, another one for me plus our home phone bill), cable bill and internet connection bill. Add to that my monthly check up with my OB and my baby's monthly check up with his pediatrician. Oh! And we also have to give the Nanny's salary within this week. It really is stressful just thinking of all that I need to pay this week. The sad thing about it is that next month it will be the same stress again that I need to get through. When will we ever be bill free?!? haha!
