How do you stretch your dollar? I are thinking of ways to save money by not spending to much? At present, I am not keeping track of my expenses. Bills will just deduct automatically in my bank account. I really admire when I can see people updating their check register as soon as they purchase or use it. I am thinking to review all my bills see if I can reduce my consumptions.

We are cooking at home more, and that is one thing. Avoiding going places that make us want to spend money for no reason. We do not pay for services we do not need, like Cable TV and we pay our bills on time to avoid late fees. I think that is about all we can do, right now.

Yeah cooking at home is great. I also do that except for some special occassions and some reasons, but I think it is just right to cut those off because it would be too much expenses already. I might also cut off same cable TV and other electronics or appliances at home that I am not regularly using.

We stretch every dollar we can. We keep track of everything, or I should day I do. We go grocery/household shopping twice a month, and i make out a monthly menu and buy only what I need to make what we have on the menu. I cook extra on certian days for later use in the week. When we go shopping for clothes or anything else we go to thrift stores, goodwill, yard sales and such before going to the stores to buy what we need, and once we get to the stores, we hit all the clearance racks first. I buy off season. Fall/Winter stuff in spring and summer and Spring/Summer and Fall and Winter. It saves alot. For fun things to do, we go check out local free museums, and such. Check out your community for stuff that you may be able to attend. We don't eat out, but about once a month and when we do... we use coupons. Snacks for our kids and stuff... we make. It's little extra work to make brownies, or cookies but it saves alot of money when you start to buy the pre-packaged snacks. Hope that helps you some on what you can do to help cut costs. Other ways are, making sure you turn off your lights when you leave home, unplugging things that aren't in use, like your coffee pot, cell phone chargers. Small things like that can make a huge difference in your electric bill.

Hi Jae, thank you so much for your reply. I rated and will choose this as the best answer. You mentioned all and I know many people can benefit your response if they happened to read this discussions. That was my real plan to go grocery at least twice a month but never happened. I really admire your household management in terms of spending money and using time wisely. Great info on visiting local museums, here in my country, there are free admission once a week for local residents, the same through with other parks, like botanical garden and train ride. Small things that uses electrical power also is a great tip. I can say that I am not really as good at you. I need to start organinzing my life and save some bucks.

Yes I always strech my money. Never I spend without cross checking the amount that has to be spent since I hail from a medium or middle class family where every penny counts and I cannot spend just like that since it would affect my entire family. Moreover, I never go for any online payments since I have the fear that the amount may get deducted and I may loose sight of the account that is being spent. Even today I dont have a credit card.

I agree with you on not just spending money because it would affect the entire family's budget. I have the same with you before your online payments but when I get started and but making sure that it is legit I am getting used to it. If you know the company, you can call or visit them for those illegal deductions but I can understand your worries. There are some good and bad reasons for using credit card.
