The Best Exercise Ever is not an exercise!

I just found out that my most favorite thing to do burns calories but it's not considered and exercise. guess what I like to do....... Ok you done guessing? I like to rattle my body, it's a sort of fidget I like to do and I constantly move and it burns calories but it's not an actual exercise. I just rattle my leg first, then my hands, arms, then I sit indian position and rattle my whole self. It calms me down and at the same time helps me burn as many calories as I would if I were pacing.

Whatever works I like to say. I think most of that is simply fidgeting or a response from your body to tell you to get up and move, I do quite often when I'm bored or I purposefully have to restrain my body from movement - in a meeting, office setting, with my clients, etc. Simply walking and getting up, gets rid of that major fidgeting - and burns more calories too :-).

So true. That's cool I love walking, especially when the weather is great. I can walk for hours. Thanks for responding, have a great day.

Yeah, walking is awesome - although I hate running, I'm starting to get back into the habit of just parking further and all those fun stuff - rather than parking close. If anything the weather and the walk are a nice change of pace, compared to go go go, sit sit sit, and all that business stuff surrounded in American/Western culture.

I have heard that people who "rattle" their legs are skinnier than those who don't. You know, when you cross one leg over the other and constantly bounce it. It is so annoying but you are in constant movement and therefore burning calories. It certainly shouldn't replace more vigorous exercise though because you need to do exercise that gets your heart rate up and release the happy hormones.

Yes totally true we do need real exercise to burn fat, feel good, lower blood pressure etc. but isn't it a good way to trick the mind and body to keep moving lol!

:) I've seen a machine that you get into that "shakes" you supposedly to reduce bellyfat. I don't know how much weight you could lose doing what you are doing, but it does sound like a great way to relax and burn a few calories! I often find myself doing that too. Shaking my arms or legs, but most of the time I'm doing it b/c I feel like I've been sitting too long and I want to get the blood flowing.

You probably won't burn as much as you would on the machine, but burning a few calories is better than none, lol! your right about getting your blood to circulate.
