I am a 25 year old male 6'1" 240 lbs on a broad frame. Still overweight but for the most part I stay active most days. The main problem with my family and I is breaking old habits. And the fact is that you can't change your favorite foods. You can eat healthy all you want, but there are still meals and snacks that we are all used to eating. We grew up with them and they bring back memories of a much simpler past. So if we(Overweight People) could find a way to change the habit of reaching for "The Old Favorites" we may not fall into the same rut that we just climbed out of. My family eats as a group, so one I eat healthy, we all eat healthy. But after a while the constant searching for new, low cal, low fat, flavorful replacements for the foods that we crave. It becomes overwhelming and we go back to buying the same kinds of things that we were used to. MUCH less expensive things that we are used to. And salads suck.. We eat them, but without any enthusiasm. I enjoy exercising in a natural environment. I like doing farm and yard work to gain strength and build stamina. I know that many do not have this luxury. But for this reason I am not comfortable in a gym setting. It's seems like I could be doing something productive with all of the energy spent on gym time. I hope this helps. :o) -Tony

It does seems that a healthy way of eating is boring and you have to repeat the same recepies over and over. But there is som many thinks you good have and stay eat healthy.Look for paleo diet recepies, and I`m sure you find plenty which your family will enjoy. I know the old habits die hard, but it is all about making a little changes, little steps every day.I keep those changes. I`m sure that the whole family can benefit froma healthy lifestyle. Thank you for your response.

Select an exercise pattern to suit your life style. All of us have different life styles and professions so there is no sense in trying to follow the book strictly. Try and follow an exercise routine that is suitable for you. You have to understand that even more important than the exercise it is sticking to it. So unless you choose something that can suit your life style, you are not going to stick on to it.

motivation is a big thing, i lost a bit of mine end of last yr, but am getting it back now. all i did was change my eating habbits, eating less of somethings. i started out by walking and doing some sit ups using the ab king pro. it helped me lose part of my belly. plus i also ride horses. then we got the ab cicle pro, it's ok.
