Our cat's name is Shakti, but lately, he's been answering to all kinds of things. my husband and I call him all kinds of funny things. Dumpling (he's white, and fluffy and looks like a big dumpling) Meowzer Purr box Meow Mix Shaki-doodle (Hubby's idea LOL) Shak-Shak Puddy-kitten Pu$$y-kitten (can't believe the P word was cencored when it actually refered to a CAT!) Puddy-cat Kitty And when Hubby and I are trying to be intimate with eachother and Shakti disturbs us, we call him a purr-vert. hahahahaha So do you have any pet-names for your pets, besides their own names? LOL

We've had cats with more than one name but they are mostly just variations on their real names. Midnight we sometimes called Minuit (French for Midnight) or Minnie. Sometimes I called her Sis or Sissy. We had a black cat we named Cybill at first but soon changed his name to Rhett when we discovered he wasn't a girl! Soon we were calling him Rhett Butthead, a variation on Rhett Butler from Gone With the Wind. My daughter's cat Henry's full name is Henry Richard Detamble (sp?), apparently the husband's name from Time Traveler's Wife. This name usually gets used when he's in trouble. She also calls him Henry-cat. My newest cat is named Pumpkin because he's mostly orange and we got him near Halloween last year, my daughter found him after she had gone to a pumpkin patch. He gets called Pumpkin Pie, Punky Pie, Punky, Punks, Punky Cat, Pumpkin Kitty, Booger (frequently!) and occasionally a few names that can't be mentioned here! I have been known to call any male cat Bud or Buddy, interestingly enough I used to call my son by those names when he was younger.

Of all the names of your cat Shakti, I like purr-vert. It suits well for what it has been named. Ha Ha Ha. Well my black cat's name is Kanna. We call him, Kannappa, rajappa, karuppanna, kanna sir etc. Brown cat's name is papa. We call her chellam, kutti, kuttiamma, buchu, pattu, papu etc. Wherever it is, when we call with any of these names, it will give voice. By the way, from where did you get this Shakti name?

all my pets seem to have several names they answer to. aiden answers to aiden, aid, lil un, angel answers to angel, ange, angelina, baby girl, angina, angelina bolina, xavier answers to xavier, xavey, xavey baby, blue (he has blue eyes) baby blue, sen, senor, sin sin, adolf (long story but when every i watch any documentaries and hitler is on he will come and sit in front of the tv and watch it and then if you say adolf he will run to you which we all know cats arent ones to run when their name is called. plus they say hitler liked to give his speeches because he got off on his own voice and my cat is half siamese so his meow is more of a screech and he seems to like to screech just for the fun of it for no reason lol) i cant seem to have any pets with out making more than one nickname or something for them

Hi danishcanadian, We have five cats and two dogs. Only one of the cats have a pet name, well not really a pet name but we just tend to change it slightly. His name is Ozzy and often gets called Ozlets or just shortened to Oz.

We have 2 cats and 1 dog and yes, like you they all have nick names or multiple names. Cleopatra only gets called her full name when she's in trouble like opening the cabinet doors and knocking around the pots and pans. She's our trouble maker, goes by Clee Clee, Cleosaurus Rex (hubby's idea since she's tiny yet makes lots of noise and runs and sprints everywhere)Pretty Girl, Girly Girl. Then there is Delilah who answers better to Plumpy,,,shes very plumb with thick fur and oh so cuddly. Plumperella, Plumpasaur, Plump a lumba (also hubby's) She answers more to Plumpy than any of the others. She's our middle child so to speak, quieter than the other two and well behaved almost all the time. And we have Mocha our sweet girly dog. She's mooser, moocher (she expects abit of whatever we eat so those fit real well) Mocha Moo and Moo Moo..she's a Jack Russell and tan and white. She likes to think she runs the house but it's really Cleo that does..then us... They are all quite spoiled and we are careful to only use the pet pet names when it's just the immediate family around. We don't want folks thinking we're nuts but now we know we're not alone! Thanks for letting me know we're not as crazy as I thought!

Omg! That's funny. My mother-in-law does the exact same thing. When she first gets a new pet, they have a simple name for it, and within a month it has at least 5 more different names, most of which I can't even pronounce lol I just have 1 cat. His name is Driscoll, and we nicknamed him Drissy over time. Nothing too crazy I guess.
