Friends, I love plants and I like to have plants inside my house. It is not easy to maintain indoor plants, but I feel that it is worth the effort because I do feel that indoor plants enhance the room and make it bright and cheerful.
One has to be careful while selecting the plants that are able to cope inside the house, and one must look for a proper spot, where at least some sun light comes in during day time...care should be taken about watering etc...
Please share your own experiences and share some tips in maintaining indoor plants and regarding the selection of plants for keeping indoors...

Hi yugasini, thanks a lot for your response.I love gardening and can immerse myself in it the whole day when I am in the mood.I have learnt things through trial and error . I am still learning...I have been growing African violets as a house plant and find that it is one the easiest plant to grow when you provide the right conduitions...yes I did see a site on artificial grass, frankly yugasini, I much prefer bull grass and the local variety of long grass to anything else - have a nice day

Hi kiran8, I have an indoor plant in the small sitting room. It is a green leafy plant with vertical soft trunk but without any branches. It is growing in a narrow flower vase. There is solely mineral water in the vase. I would like to dump a little amount of sea salt to the container every time changing fresh water.
Few days back my hubby bought me a pot of winter jasmine to welcome our grand festival, Chinese New Year
The plant looks really lovely with many small blooming flowers in dark pink color on the top of it. The green leaves are succulent. Therefore I don’t have water it daily. I place it in the sitting room which provides ample sunlight through French windows in the afternoon. Yeah, the windows are facing right east.
Before going to bed I place the plant under the rambutan tree. The outdoor humidity and morning dew are good to it I suppose. I don’t mind to take the trouble to take the pot of plant in and out thrice or more weekly. I just hope it will grow thrifty with healthy leaves as well as fascinating flowers.
The environment of our house will look more decent and lively with some growing indoor plants in it
Have a nice day and happy posting

Hi ikbooi, it is lovely to read your experience with your plants.I wonder what plant is that , that is growing in the narrow vase? And the jasmine, you are telling about is called Juhi in India or Jaji in the south. It grows to be a bush and I too have one in my garden.the flowers are fragrant and in the evening when they bloom the whole air is filled with thie fragrance. All that you will need to do is repot it once a year ....I too feel that having plants inside our home does make the enviornment brighter and more healthy

Hi Ikbooi,thats a lovely plant
. One needs to constantly take care of indoor plants. they either die due to lack of water or too much water or start growing sickly and shed leaves...I have put all my plants next to a window where there is plenty of light and some sunshine during the day...
the picture of your plant below,...

I used to have indoor plants, but not any more. The few potted plants that I have are outside.
