Do you think televangelism is an acceptable way to minister to people? Do you watch televangelists?

Good word acceptable. I guess as long as it does not hurt anyone it is OK. I wouldn't want my grandmother to watch them she would probably send all her money. Won't give a dime to family but would to someone on television she believes in thank goodness she does not watch those guys. I think for the most part they are a joke, but I am sure there are some honest and legit ones.

Honestly I have never really watched one for more than a few minutes, and I spent most of that time laughing at how rediculas they act and sound. However, if they are not all about the almighty buck, and people find their ministries uplifting and it helps people without cleaning out their pockets then I see no harm in it. It makes some people feel really good, so as long as they are not being persuaded to hand over their life savings I think it is OK.

No, I don't watch any of them regularly. I have seen them in the past on the tv with some of my elder relatives. I don't know if it's 'acceptable' or not lol. Certainly there ARE people who enjoy watching them, like shut-ins for instance. This is just my personal opinion (and not intended to be a slam on them), but to me it seems like they all seem to be so theatrical, and more about the money and impressing their flock, than the true ministry. The last one I used to watch was with my one aunt, when Billy Graham was still preaching many years ago. I did enjoy his talks, but ever since Jimmy Swaggart, I now look at them with a totally different eye. I think if people want to watch this, then they should. It's not my cup of tea, but then I prefer a more personal walk and relationship with God.
