Do you ever sit at home for days and then just have to make yourself get........

I live alone, have for a few years. My daughter lives 11 miles away and she's about to have my first grandchild. But I love that I can work at home, but sometimes after like 2 or 3 days of just sitting here by myself, this feeling just comes over me like man, I've got to do something. This is rediculous. Getting on the phone and talking doesn't get it. Tv or anything. Just have to get out of this house. Are any of you like that?

Yes......and I only need to leave for a little bit to satisfy my need to get out of the house....I do alot of work from home too...and being by myself as you are I get stuck in a rut sometimes and need something to change my lifestyle....and leaving even to get groceries sometimes is a very good thing.

That's exactly right. Sometimes I need to go get groceries but I've gotten in such a mood I dread that, but once I actually get out among people and breath in that nice fresh air, I'm so glad I made myself go.

I feel like that all the time! Sometimes I just get so sick of not being able to get out of the house that I get tired and sleep. I think it's like cabin fever. Haha. You just have to get out-NOW! I don't even care if I just drive around for awhile sometimes as long as it gets me out of the house!

I go to sleep too. And it feels so good just to think I'll lie down for a half hour or so and then the phone wakes me, and I've been asleep for 2 hours or so and then I get angry with myself because I'm supposed to be disciplining myself. Can't win!

Right now, I can stay home all the time, happily. I have been working too much, and now I am on Medical leave, and hardly leave the house at all. I want to work online, and will not go back to work.

I definitely get that feeling and it's even worse when the weather enforces the confinement, which happened to me for 10 days a few weeks back. I've got into the routine of going to the local shop every third day just to get a paper so that I get out of the house and talk to someone who isn't either on the phone or on the internet. I may only have been out for about 15 minutes and spoken to just 1 person but it certainly makes the world of difference.

i have the same feeling some times. i think my life is just so scheduled and timed, taht somtimes when i have free time and just sit and do nothing, i have the same feeling in my stomach, as if something's wrong, i forget something. i try to stop thinking about this, because it's really anoying, i just cant relax properly. i don't have to go outside of the house but i have to do some work to make the feeling go away.

I have to do something when I get in that frame of mind, but sometimes what I do is not good, because I head for my treat drawer, or I head to the kitchen and eat whatever I can find, thus everytime I go to the VA for a check up I way another pound. If I keep this up, I will weight quite a bit when I'm older. Oh God, make it stop.! LOL!

No in my house their is always people here with me living alone would be a little sad and would get lonesome after a while. You should go out to the mall with your friends so you wont get so lonely.

I was just thinking about this today as a matter of fact. I am newly unemployed and used to be out of the house about 12 -13 hours a day. I didn't like being gone that much and wished I could just stay home, like be retired or something. Well, I guess I got my wish (being sarcastic) of course. I have been sitting here now for 14 days with only leaving to go to the store. I know a few months ago, one of my New Year's resolution's was to join a gym, so I did. I did it not only to lose a few pounds, get toned but manely to get out and about other than work, home, work home. I think I just may take myself up on this since I do have a membership. If you work out of you're home, that is you're job. Now you need to get out for a few hours a day if you can. Anything like talking on the phone isn't going to hit it because you are already in the house many hours. Have you come up with any ideas?
