Who else feels the pressure to have a college degree?

Why does society say everybody has to have a college degree and make $100 million dollars a year or else. Why can't people just be content with working at a small office or as a cashier in peace without others looking down at them. Yes money is important but that shouldn't be a factor of a person's worth. I think it's absurd of how people are so brainwashed to believe if a person chooses not to go to college and have a job paying $100 an hour, then they're automatic bums or losers.
