Where I live you can start to learn to drive with a permit at age 16,but you have to actually be 17 to get your license.Of corse you take a written test first then you get a learner's permit, then you practice driving for the road test. How do you have to be in your country?

I live in Washington state and here you have to be at least 15 for a learner's permit as long as you're taking a class at the time. To get an intermediate license you have to be 16 and have taken a driver's ed class. The intermediate license places restrictions on when you can drive and with how many people. At 18 you can get a full-fledged license which automatically upgrades from the intermediate.

What state are you in? I saw on your profile you are from the US. I am too and the age happens to vary by state, by what I remember. Like here in the state of California a person has to be at least 15 and a half years old when it comes to a driving permit and 16 years old when it comes to driver's licenses. Okay, so there isn't much of a difference, but still there is a difference. LOL I know there was another state where it was 14 years old for a permit, although I don't remember which one it was. However, I do remember a friend's family member telling me this when I was younger. I thought she was full of it too. LOL But apparently she was telling the truth. I don't know if this state has raised the age limit since, but I know it was 14 back then. Here is a link to a site I just found that lists the driving ages for each state. So you'll be able to see for yourself that it isn't the same for every single state. Happy mylotting! : http://www.dmv.org/teen-drivers.php

In my country you can get your driving licence when you are 18. First there is a written test, if you want to drive a "normal" car you are allowed to make 5 mistakes and if you want to become a taxidriver you are allowed to make 3 mistakes. If you have more than 3 or 5 mistakes you need to take the written test again before you can take the next test. After the written test you need to pass the practical driving test where you are driving around in the streets with a teacher.

Well in our country one can get the license in the age of 16, but it has a limited options. If I remember correctly, there has to be an experienced driver sitting by your side in order to drive with such license. The full license is available at the age of 18 and this one has no limitations.

A young man can take your driver's license at 18 years, you take maturity too. In my opinion is a good age to take drivers licence, ios not to old, not to younger to do this. Both, written test and test on the road, with police here is in same day.

Hey Java, Well, unfortunately, here in my country the whole "driving" is somewhat unfair and complex. My goverment realises that lots of people die from car accidents when they are teens because they would have come from a late night party and would have been drinking too much. Before, the driver's license used to be 16, then they turned it into 18 and now I've heard rumours that withing the next 2 years they will change it to 21. My heart sank when I heard this...it's just not fair.

To drive all geared vehicles, 18 is the age bar to get the driving license ... one month before the test, they would give LLR(learner's license) u can practice for one month and go for the test....online tests would be given before issuing LLR..
