14 year old Kill Mom and Stefdad over Chores

A Colorada kid, decides he would kill his mom and stepdad just because he didn't want to do his chores. Fourteen year old John Caudle was charged with two counts of murder as an adult. He fatally killed his mom Joanne Rinbarger, 34 and her husband Tracey Rinebarger 38, by shooting them. This happened back in October when he was found driving the families pickup truck. He claimed he was driving to an uncles house, meanwhile the police were at his house dealing with a crime scene. Would a parent ever think there own kids would kill them? However it seems to happen alot. I just can't ever believe that a child would kill his parents let alone just to get out of chores. Its the most senseless crime ever. This is just another reason I don't believe a gun should be in the house or that it can be readily available to a child so they can get to it. If found guilty what should his crime be?

You never know, maybe he was abused so badly for not doing something the right way. We don't know the real story. Anyway, I think this child is sick and needs help. Something is missing in this story.

Horror! I Even Don't Know What To Do With That 14 Teenager For That. I Think First Of All Need To Talk With Psicholog That Put Him Into Jail For "Short" Term Of 100 Years!

It's kinda scary to be honest. I'm a mother of two kids & to think they could ever have that much hate for me drives me crazy. How does a child do this to their own parents? What really was the reason of killing his parents? I don't think it had anything to do with chores or maybe it did. Maybe he was just a really, really disturbed child, or maybe the parents just really hurt this child in the past... I guess we will never know the true meaning. Whatever the reason is.... it's just really upsetting... I don't care how mad I get at my parents, I could never hurt them, even as a teenager I couldn't have done that & I was an angry kid at times, but then again, my parents never abused me so the hate was never there. I don't know, this is a really confusing topic to me because I am going by my emotions & the love I have for my parents & I just can't see me hurting them or my own kids wanting to hurt me. But if it was honestly over chores & this child was never tortured/abused by his parents, then he must really be sick in the head.... not that it's okay he did this if he was abused, but I would understand more on why he killed his parents. Its a shame...

Wow, that's awful. What is the world coming to? Killing over such senseless. If he is guilty he should have to suffer in prison for the rest of his life because they will definitely make him do chores in there.

OMG that is so true I didn't even think about that. Could you imagine he kills because he didn't want to do the chores and then he will spend the rest of his life doing chores in a prison.

when I read this story I felt a shuddering fear.. I think that kid is mentally disturbed; like they don't feel fear at all...He's totally guilty of murder. Everyone is entitled of justice, whatever family ties you may have...

In the strength of the kid to kill his parents one could say that the parents themselves provoked the kid and were to be blamed in the end. The parents are almost forty and wished to die and the best way is to provoke their kid. If this what actually happened, the kid is then innocent as his parents forced him to kill them - with the aid of provocation.

Well it's never okay to take another life. Even if the child was provoked, that child is still in the wrong. Since when is it okay to kill someone just because you are provoked? If the child was being abused over & over, then I can understand his anger & maybe understand why he decided to kill his parents, but we need to send a positive message to these kids & let them know its never okay to kill someone or take the law into your own hands. The right thing would of been for this child to seek help if he was being hurt by his own parents... But being provoked don't give you no right at all... heck... I get provoked all the time, but I'm not killing people.

The things that happen in the world today are crazy and insane. The fact that a child could ever take anyones life at all scares me let alone a child taking his or her own mother and father's life is even scarier. For the most part it is absolutely and totally senseless. I mean every child grows up doing chores such is life we all do it and we continue on through adulthood. I am not sure how they should punish him. Life in prison would definately be a good start though at the age of 14 a kid knows right from wrong at least in this sense.

Hi Lelin, I tried to find the news on the internet, and there seem to be only one run of the story. I feel sorry for the couple, what kind of child have they raised to be able to do this? But on the other hand, what motivated the child to do such a cold-blooded crime? There seem to be a deeper reason than just avoiding household chores. Sad, 2 lives wasted, another one ruined forever.

That is absolutely horrid. There is absolutely NO excuse for murdering your parents, and to murder them simply to avoid helping out around the house or something is simply unbelievable I swear, that kid doesn't know how easy he probably has it compared to when his parents used to be around about his age. I bet they had far more chores to do than him

I totally agree with you on that. When I was growing up I had to make sure my room was clean and between my sisters and brothers we had other chores that changed every week. Everything from washing dishes, dusking, sweeping and mopping, cleaning the bathroom. Cleaning the front foyer area. The kids today have it so easy its just so ridiulous. I can't imagine what the parents were thinking at that last minute of their lives. Its just so horrible. Thanks for your response.
