5 hours of sleep: good or bad?

lately i have been sleeping for only five hours or less. it's like my body automatically wakes up after about five hours of sleep. i of course feel sleepy later, but since i'm at work or need to do and finish something, i don't really get that sleep and then, at home, it would just be five hours of sleep. is it alright? or should i see a doctor already? i know adults can tolerate less hours of sleep than a baby does. but is less than 5 hours still safe?

I have functioned on a lot less sleep to be honest with you. It just depends on how you feel during the day. If you can still function in a competent manner, than by all means that is enough. If not, well there may be an issue of some sort that needs to be dealt with.

I think that is good enough, although the healthy requirement is to get at least 8 hours of sleep everyday. However, our activities only allow most of us to sleep 4 to 5 hours a day. I think that's good enough provided you catch up on some days when you're not that busy. They even say that 30 minutes of real good sleep is sufficient enough to refuel your body.

I am no doc but I have looked this up recently online. Here is what I came up with as my own personal conculsiuon. Number one your body knows how much sleep you need. With that being stated I think five hours is plenty if you function in your day the way you want too. Also how much do you exercise in a day? The reason I say this is if the bodt needs rest it can be from too much activity or not enough. There are many factors when trying to answer this question. For me I take it in stride and hope for the best. I like to get at least 8 hours but that is me and I realize not everyone needs that many hours. We are all different and lead different lifestyles.
