Have you ever gone into a situation where you have to choose between a heartthrob and a NOT SO boy next door type? Most of the beautiful girls in our town end up with a an ordinary looking guy. I always wonder why pretty girls end up with an unattractive guy. Do they have this perception that a heartthrob is a heart breaker? What do you think?

I've dated just about every stereotype under the sun.. and from what Ive experienced, that "hearthrob" is really just "heartache waiting to happen" sporting a different name. My experience is that they are usually too wrapped up in money and appearances to actually stick with things and the company of a person that they enjoy.
I dated one guy.. VERY goodlooking... hell, he was turning the heads of my 50 year old co-workers. He admitted that I made him very happy, but when his ex-girlfriend threatened him, he went running back to her... and tbh, she treated him like sh!t. She was very controlling.. physically abusive and wouldn't allow him to choose his own friends. All I could do was hang my head in shame and move on. Hope she was worth it.
I dated another guy briefly. He was wealthier, but he actually said that I wasn't high maintanence enough for him... he went off and dated all kinds of very pretty, wealthy and spoiled young women who haven't ever had to work in their lives. And he always sat back and complained about them. I'm not pretty, but even for the brief time we dated, I continued to work my job and support myself, without leaning on him and his money. Hope he's happy with his psycho ladies that demand $300 bottles of perfume.
So.. I realize that not all handsome men are like that.. but that's my experience.

LOL! The first guy was such a pity.I think she was doing it on purpose since her guy is really good-looking. She just doesn't want to played around by him. It's pretty cool eh rather than he controls her.LOL!
For the second guy, he was never contented of you that he was given too high-maintenance girls.Good for him!Be careful what he wished for.LOL
Thanks for sharing your experience zooey.

Yes, actually I thought a lot about it. :) I think beautiful girls are most insecure people! They are constantly comparing with their age group and younger ones. Initially it is just a feeling of satisfaction, but soon they start realizing that a younger one is around, who is more attractive than them, and the insecurities start to mount. They feel everybody will move towards that girl, and therefore, they find a guy who is not good looking - no - almost ugly. This guy would feel honored to be considered by such a beauty, albeit aging. He definitely would not have any chances with the younger one! And by showing such love for this ugly man, the beauty would have got a last round of sighs from the guys who left her side or would've left her side anyway, thereby denying the younger one some attention for a while. :) The ugly man, of course, is unlikely to leave the beauty's side, smitten as he is. And they live happily thereafter. :)
