Manners like holding the door for someone or asking with the word please in the sentence. Are all of those things out of date?

No, everyone should have good manners and they are not old-fashioned.

THANK YOU! Is it your experience that people still use them?

Good manners should never go out of style :). I really hate people who have no manners. I never miss a second to tell my niece if she forgot her manners.

I believe that this is what is wrong with our society today. No Manners and the "me first" attitude. What is wrong with people that will just let the door slam in your face or practically run you over in the store with their cart and then give you a dirty look. Manners are just basic kindness from one person to another. Unfortunately, we have become a very unkind, selfish society. It's all in the training and it is still possible. My grandson is being taught please and thank you and I'm sorry. That's the only way we will bring back values to our world.

those should never be out of date. it's just at some point parents got lazy and stopped teaching/enforcing those on their kids and they grew up and didn't do that to theirs and so on. i think everyone should do that, i at least try to do it. i teach my kids those manners and my husband does as much as he can to be kind and polite to others.

I do not think so. I believe we should still use these manners. I try to use them toward people I meet. I believe the world would be a lot better, if we used our manners. I do meet some people every now and then that use their manners. The younger generation are not taught them any more, This is sad on our part.

Good manners are never out of date it is always on date I would prefer dealing with them than those people who do not have manners at all.

i seem to think that this is the case because even the word 'sorry' has some how disappeared from teens vocabulary. the replacement 'my bad' is horrible. forget trying to get them to say please and thank you!

Well you would think they were with the way people are today. However, its not a matter of it being old fashion at all. Manners should be what everyone has at all times. Unless like today, I believe alot of kids have not been taught good manners at all. My 3 year old granddaughter has been taught and we can't believe how she says, please and thank you all the time. As she gets older she will continue to learn good manners such as opening a door and helping others in need. Just being a good kind person is what all people should be. Its a shame that it doesn't come natural to everyone.
