I know a few girls who do this and I'm curious to know if you've ever seen this. In a way, I think this is defintely a vain thing to do. I've personally always had pictures.. like photography-pictures or family pictures (including other people of course) as the backgrounds of my computer & phone. I couldn't imagine turning on my cell and looking at MYSELF. *shrugs*. What do you think?

I'm with you I don't put my picture on desktop, computer not even my avatars. I don't feel the need to show a picture of myself to the world. I usually have a picture of my granddaughter on my computer background and on my phone thats it.

Lelin 1123, it seems great people think alike. I also have a picture of my grand daughter in my mobile as well as the computers. In fact our entire family has her picture in all their mobile phones.

I couldn't do that either.. In fact I don't usually post pics of me anywhere.. My facebook, yuwie, mylot, myspace etc.. all have pics of my pets. My phone has a pic of my other baby... MY car - I love my electric blue Aztek.. I named her Crikey.. I took a really cool pic of her on my cell.. and I immediately mad it my phone wallpaper. There are NO pics of me whatsoever in my phone and very very rarely will you find one of me on my camera either.. LOL I guess that make me NOT vain... thank god.. But I do have a friend that takes soooo many pictures of herself... NO thanks -no my cup of tea.

You're meaning JUST a photo of that person, perhaps like a glamor shot or something edited to look cool? I often use photos of my daughter, but sometimes it's her and me, or a family photo, or me and my husband, or me and a friend, or friends. I never really thought about it.... lol! I don't read too much into what people use for avatars, backgrounds, or screen savers to be honest.

I know a few people who do. I personally prefer having a pic of my boyfriend or of a pretty scenery or something. Maybe if I had a really good pic of myself I would put it there just to make me feel better on days when I don't feel too pretty.

I have my favourite picture of my granddaughter and me on my desktop. We live in Spain, and I don't see very much of her, but this way I see her every day. I don't think it's vain, really. I don't have a picture on my phone background - I just use one of the backgrounds loaded on the phone.

It is really a stupid thing to do. You are right, only vain people do this kind of things. Usually I have some good pictures or some gods pictures as background of my computer as well as phone. Now after the birth of the grand daughter, it is only her pictures which serves in all our mobile phones as well as in our computers. It is always nice to see your beautiful grand daughter when you switch on your computer or phone.

Guess it depends how you look at it. I joke a lot but I don't think I'm that vain. Sometimes I take pictures of myself and put em on my cell phone. Mostly I use my little girl's pictures but sometimes it's me up there. People say I take real good pictures though.

I wouldn't do it myself but a lot of people I know do it. I don't really care, if it makes them happy to see their face everywhere, then so be it.

I think it's ok. Hehe. On my cellphone I have a photo of me and my boyfriend on it. Sort of marking my territory I guess. I've tried pictures of just myself and I usually change it after a while. On my computer though, it's mostly scenery and the kind that help my eyes rest a bit.

Aah! I know people who does this! If it's a picture with yourself and your significant other, your friends, family, or whoever, I don't find it weird, but I know people who puts pictures of JUST themselves on their phones or as a computer wallpaper... I guess some people don't have enough with a mirror

I don't like to have as wallpaper on my computer a picture of myself, especially on the one that I use in the office. It's too embarassing. But I admit to having my picture as wallpaper on my cellphone. I am a little on the vain side, after all. :-)

maybe some people are just too forgetful that they easily lose things... one way of putting identification on your phone without leaving a scratch is by posting ur face in the desktop, wallpaper... people would easily identify your phone if in case you will lose it... but there are only a few people who do what i just said... so sad, vain people are all around us... i do have a little bit of vanity but i don't post my face in a wallpaper, it's scary... i love myself, but...

They say because of the advent of social networking sites, we are now entitled to be narcissistic nowadays. Because we want more and more people to know that we exist we are sort of trying to "sell" ourselves to others so that they would let us in their social circle. Having pictures of one's self in their own cellphones is just of the subtle clues of this perfectly valid want (of course we want to get noticed, stand out, and be the star.) I think it's okay as long as the wallpapers are not overly provocative. Leave something for a mysterious effect, eh?

i used to have a pic of me riding my good stock horse on the computer, it was a professional shot, and one that helped me sell her. but usually just have what ever i feel like on the lappie now. currently it's one from a game i'm playing.

I don't really like it either. I do take pictures of myself on my phone and stuff- to use as defaults on facebook and whatnot, but I'd never put it up as my wallpaper. I'd much rather keep pictures of candid things; my current phone wallpaper is a GREAT (for taking on the phone) picture I took of Jade, the guitarist at [that AFI] concert, and before that one I had a picture of one of my favorite books' cover.
