When is the last time you got flowers, and what was the occasion?

I had the first of three neck procedures done today at a surgical hospital. I told a few people here about it when I learned of it last week. Anyway, my parents couldn't be there because they were out of town, so a friend of mine took me. Poor guy. It took longer today than any other procedure (remember I have had 6 back procedures done there) has in the past. He was longsuffering to say the least. Anyway, he dropped me back off at my parent's house, and this evening my parent's came home. My dad brought me six red roses with baby's breath, and that gave my heart a little lift. I've been ill so long that people are way past sending me get well cards, ya know? But it was a pleasant surprise to get them from my dad today. I'm back home at my apartment right now (parents are taking care of Sherlock tonight), and I can smell the roses from my computer desk. So tell me the last time you got flowers, gave flowers, or are you allergic to flowers and we need to send you fake flowers?

Aww, you poor kid! I'm glad to see you are home and nice and comfy, sort of. The last time I received some flowers was this past summer from my daughter's garden. They were really a pretty mix and I spread them all over the house. It really cheered things up. Here are my flowers to you, and hope you're feeling better really soon! I'm not too good at doing pictures so I hope they come up, if not, the thought was there, haha! xxxhugs.

I got flowers and a blooming plant last month, just about three weeks ago. The Azalea was from work, the floral arrangement from church. It does not really seem like you have had time to recover from the last surgery. I am sorry, but I do hope this helps.

I was going to tell you this too. I told a few mylotters through their e-mail. Not only am I going to have the 3 neck procedures, they are going to cut me open. I cried a little when he told me. I'm not afraid of the pain, but I feel like I spend all my time in hospitals and doctor offices. This won't be the worst case surgery where they insert a rod and it takes 8 months or something to recover. I have two pieces of disc that are "floating" around at the base of my back. One is stationary. The other appears to be moving around and agitating nerves. So the surgeon will make a cut and remove that piece of disc. In the long run, it isn't that bad.

Yeah, I had a floater piece around my toe, in addition to the spurs and bunion. It will help to get it out, I am sure.

That was really nice of your Dad to get you Roses. It's been a very long time since I have gotten any flowers. The last time I recall I got flowers from my office staff because I hadn't received flowers in a long time before that. Really the gesture is always nice, but they always die off. I would much prefer a plant instead so it has at least a chance of living a little longer.

Sadly, I don't think I could keep a plant alive very long.

Hey Amber! I do hope you are feeing better! I just tried to call you at the number you left me on my voicemail, but it was the wrong person's number! I called three times and I'm sure that person will be calling me back really pissed off! So, can you send me another email with the right number so I can talk to you! Anway, as for getting flowers, the last time I got them was for my birthday 2 years ago from the boyfriend! He didn't even bother this last birthday! So, I guess I should have gotten the message then! It was the only time he ever got me flowers! I was in the hospital 2 summers ago, and still no flowers either! And now the ways things are, almost ending I don't think I will be getting any ever, at least from him! I do love getting flowers, but I also get upset when they die! But, no matter what reason someone gives them to you they should be cherished, especially roses (they are my favorites)! Enjoy your flowers and get well quick! Sending you Love and Hugs, Leslie

The last time I got flowers was Feb 3rd 2009.This was the day my 3rd child was born. I recieved an arrangement of white roses from my husband and 2 daughters. I got another of blue carnations from my mother and father in law and my place of employment. My best friend got me a bud vase of 3 yellow roses and my mom gave me a single red rose in a bud vase.I have one of each of them dried in his baby book.Has it been a year already? I believe what they say about being in the hospital or feeling a little down, flowers do make it a little better! I hope you have a speedy recovery, which they also say flowers can help.

That sounds like a lovely group of flowers to get. And I can't think of a better reason to get flowers than the important event of having a child.

I have never received any cut flowers for years as all my friends know I hate to watch them die so I always get plants which I enjoy taking care of and watching them bloom again and again. I did get a very nice plant at Christmas.

LOL I must be a pessimist because when he gave me the flowers, the third thought in my head was, oh I I'm going to hate to watch them die.

The last time I received flowers was Valentines day on my second year highschool. I have a suitor and he gave me a dozen of red roses which made me teased by the whole class. That was the last time. I am not into flowers really, but if someone offer me one I will accept it. Flowers makes the room alive and if it consist of different colors, you will be inspire to look at it. Hope you are okay now.

Hi Hun! The last time I got flowers was October 7th, 2009! I remember it like it was yesterday because that is the day I had my youngest daughter Chloe. My parents came to the Hospital to meet her and they gave me a dozen pink roses! I also got pink roses when I had my other daughter Angelina in 2006. I hope you get feeling better soon sweetie, and enjoy those roses!

Hi there. Nice question. The last time I received a flower was two years ago from a former suitor. When he was still courting me i would receive a bouquet of flowers from him weekly. Even though i do not really like him, my friends insisted that i should give it a try since he seems so serious and persistent on me. But honestly i don't see it that way. That is why i really do not like receiving gifts from a suitor because i see it as a bribe. Haha! His courtship lasted for a couple of months because as time went by i felt guilty for making him stay and with all those flowers. Plus i had an ex suitor that time who should supposedly my boyfriend, the person who never gave material things on me but still love him. Things did not work well between us and the pain was still fresh during that time. When this suitor with flowers courted me I was not yet ready to be in a relationship so i told him to stop. Someday i would also love to receive flowers from the right person. Haha.. Take care and God bless

As far as I can remember the last time I received a flower it was Valentines Day way back 2007. After that my boyfriend did not give me anymore flowers because he said that I can't eat the flowers. In my opinion, girls really love to receive a beautiful flowers especially the fresh one because it can add color to the house when you put it in the vase. Now, that it is almost Valentines Day I'm still hoping that my boyfriend will give me one. Take care AmbiePam.

It sounds like you have yourself a pretty good friend staying up there with you the whole time. The last time I remember getting flowers was a few years ago on Mother's Day. My son picked out a single Carnation for me. It was very sweet. Before that it had probably been 10 years since I got flowers.

Hi, AmbiePam. That was very thoughtful of your father to send you flowers after having surgery. I am pretty sure he wanted you to feel much better. I had flowers given to me, for Mother's Day. I think it was last year, yes it was... They was giving them at the church and my husband, set aside a set for me. He asked them to hold them for me. He gave me red flowers. If I had to have came to church on that day, I would have gotten them myself. I usually will get a set, they give them out to all of the mothers on Mother's Day. But my husband thought about me and sent me some back to me. I was so happy and I felt very special. He surprised me with this because I did not expect this at all. I am glad that you are doing well after having your surgery. And I hope that seeing the flowers that your father sent to you will make you heal quicker. Stay strong and I hope that you will feel better soon.

The last time I received flowers would be a very long time ago already. It was the first valentines ever and he gave me a rose with my favorite color which is orange. It was the sweetest ever compared to the person who gave me a bunch of tulips that I did not appreciate because I do not like tulips to begin with.

It's been awhile since I gave flowers, and I've never received them, but I guess that would be weird, because I'm a guy. The last time I gave flowers was a couple years ago. It doesn't make since, but me and my girlfriend got into a fight, and she was at fault. But, she wouldn't talk to me, so I bought her flowers. It's dumb now that I think about it, but I really loved her.

No, not dumb. Sweet, even if it was her fault.
