We have really lowered our standards through the years. What is grounds for you to lose faith in a elected official? Is having an affair grounds for kicking an elected official to the curb? How about changing his/her opinion on a major issue? How about saying something far from the truth again and again? What to YOU is an unforgiveable 'sin' by a politician?

Blatantly lying. I don't mean misstating, or exaggerating something, but rather blatantly lying or making promises one has no intention of fulfilling. Also blatantly violating the constitution. If a politician is a constitutional lawyer it stands to reason that every violation of the constitution is both blatant, and planned.

Lying. Anyone who lies to the public about anything should be kicked out of public office without further ado. If they will lie to you about one thing, they'll lie to you about something else. If we can't trust our "public servants," why would we want them to represent us on any level? Of course, I realize that if every politician who had lied to the public were kicked out of office, there would be precious few, if any, left. That may not be a bad thing...

valentinesdiner Yes I think that in the case of a President an affair should be grounds to get rid of said official. also lying to the American public would be unpardonable unforgivable sin to me, thats the worst. We are all humans so I could forgive an affair much easier than the lies to the people who elected these officials. liars do not make good politicians at all. We need people in Congress that we can trust, that will help their people and stand for honesty and truth. I am an American so I can only speak for my own elected officials.
