Can you create a new interest that is not listed?

I don't find a certain subject in the interest list and when I do a search all I get is discussions with that keyword, not a topic I can post under. I notice that some people create interests of their own. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I looked in the FAQ and also clicked on "lists" but all I get on "lists" is my own interests and the FAQ doesn't answer my question!

Yes, the navigation is a bit difficult, and I do it so seldom that I forget between times. I am glad that someone could help you get it sorted out.
