I'm confused! Paypal is behaving like a girl who has not made up her mind!

Ok - so first it was my friend here who told all of us (Indians) that Paypal is reversing entries, and to prove it - she even pasted the mail she received from Paypal. I accepted her contetion, all the same I defended Paypal's stand as I did not suffer similar problems. Then another friend came up voicing the same woes, and once again I defended Paypal - I so very much hate accusing people for wrongs they didnt do. A day later, I found my entries reversed. I promptly went to one of these discussions and accepted that my amounts too were sent back! And now, Paypal has credited the amounts once again! I'm confused.
Sequence
First they credit
then they debit
they they credit
Future action awaited. Dont you think this is quite funny? Can anybody clarify what is happening?

Hi Vandana!
You see you have better knowledge than us, as far as dealing with paypal is concerned, so we would go by your advice. I also do not know what caused all this trouble and why Paypal authorities started behaving like unpredictable authority.

Hi babyface, I am no better than the rest! Ordinary soul! Average person!
Actually the mail posted by Pay Pal clearly showed that they'd stopped personal transactions to and fro India.
Note that Pay Pal account is not in India, and therefore the amounts received into and sent out from Pay Pal do not qualify for such ill treatment.
So I did send a mail to them to that effect. But that does not mean that I should be the only demon who is entitled to such benefit!
Can you all please check your account and let me know if the credits that were reversed have been credited again!
Thanks for your time babyface. LOL.

I am confused too, but I am kind of happy eearing that your money is finally credited. Hope that Paypal found a way out of the problems and started working fine. I saw two discussion about the Paypal issues with Inidans, but I didn't believe it. I logged in and found that my money was there. I am going to attain payout in one website this month end. So, hopefully there won't be an issue with the moeny getting deposited in my Paypal account. I am planning to move it to my local account by 15th of next month.

No Vandana! Was yours a verified account or an unverified account earlier?Earlier we were given the facility of having our accounts verified by giving our credit card details. This verification facilitated an increase in withdrawal limits[that is --while the amount that can be withdrawn for an unverified account is only 500 usd it can be more for a verified account.]
So, if you had already given your credit card details then this modus operandi sounds strange but on the other hand if yours were an unverified account, then this is a new procedure--instead of giving credit card details they are probably verifying it this way/

Really? That's puzzling. Is your account verified, why not try contacting paypal about it and see what they say.

Aunt V, you know what. It's getting to be really strange now that you have explained it. And I saw another discussion from a user whom I think is from India as well and he is having problems with his paypal account too. Like why is this happening? I'm pretty anxious to know as well, because if it happens just like that, I'm starting to wonder as well. I mean, online earnings are crucial, and if it's lost just like that or bounced back whatever and etc, that's going to be very troublesome. I hope paypal contacts you sooner and there will be an answer to this all or something.

Hi zed, thanks for the concern. :) But I think there are not many who are solely dependent on online earnings. Even if they are, they may be having accounts with more than one online bank. :) For me this is a time pass. :) Something that keeps my hands away from my mouth, and improves my knowledge. :) As to Pay Pal - I believe it is something to do with RBI's instructions. May be RBI has come up with some stipulations relating to money leaving and coming into India. I dont know for sure. May be Pay Pal would be asked to comply with some conditions, like furnishing IT codes (PAN) of the persons. Since the problem is specifically related to Indians, I believe it may be an institution at our end. It will take time but it should be sorted in a few months time. :) I dont have any issues. Worst come worst served, I will have some monies to give gifts to my friends abroad. :) he he.

Hi zed, papyal has suspended personal payments, and payments to and fro India. I have been using this account for the last seven months or so. I have received monies and sent monies from it. I have also withdrawn some amounts. So the question of verification at this late stage seems strange, though no procedure as such was carried out for verification. I did write to them, but they have not clarified. The last credit is after I wrote to them!

Hi msfranciso, I hope it doesnt happen as well! It has something to do with our central bank I suppose. In any event, I think paypal would intimate alternate means for collecting the monies already in accounts if the problem is not resolved. :) The online bank has a reputation to maintain. :)

Well, may be god wants to give us more than our share of hard work! LOL. May be INR will increase in value, bringing in more than what we expected. :) Its ok. Pay Pal is not going anywhere! At the worst, the bank will send the monies through check to the addresses already furnished. So I am not really concerned. :)

Many people are having accounts with paypal. Now many are confused about the payments. Paypal has got a very good name globally. I hope it is a temporary problem and it gets solved soon and gives relief to all of us.

Hi Buchi_bulla, I think this is a temporary glitch. May be RBI is preventing local people from using Indian monies to buy things abroad. Recently RBI did try to tighten liquidity situation in the country. I am presuming it is that. However, I am not sure to what I owe that reverse of reversal entry. :) I just wanted to confirm if anybody else has come across such reverse of debits. :)

There is so many Mylot members having problems with Mylot recently. I don't know what is happening with Mylot. So far I haven't meet any problems with them and i don't want one in the future. Hope they solve all the problems in near time so that their members will not be bothered by some of the problems lately.

I've never had any issues with mylot. They've been prompt and perfect with me. It is Pay Pal. And even then, I dont think I would like to use the term issue as yet, because Pay Pal did say they are trying to solve the problems. I am hoping for a favorable outcome. :)

I cant exactly tell you the status of withdrawal as it is not yet a fortnight since I gave an order for withdrawal of a small amount from my paypal account. I hope to hear from them soon enough. :) Dont worry, they will let us know something soon enough. :)

Could it just be that myLot has intervened? I had sent them that dicussion you are referring to and requested them to intervene. I am not sure. May be they have. And if so I thank them from the bottom of my heart!

Well, you thank mylot from the bottom of your heart, and I will thank it from rest of the heart, if it has managed to intervene. LOL. But I think mylot is just one of the clients! I dont think mylot could have influenced such a crucial decision! I think there must have been an error in interpretation! If you'd noticed the mail that Binthu pasted clearly mentioned money flowing to and fro India. Now, if paypal is receiving monies from Philippines how would amount to and fro India. Some smart alec pointed it out, and sheepishly paypal has back tracked. Or is it? he he. Wait and watch. :)

If we as individuals can interact with paypal myLot will surely have a bigger say. Whatever be it I am glad that they have reversed the decision in your case. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

The trouble is myLot never reverts to individuals on the action taken on whatever they appeal for keeping us guessing!
