I don't know how many of u watched the super bowl last night but the very best part of the game was when Brees the saints quarterback was holding his baby boy after the game & looked at him & tears came into his eyes. I think it is wonderful that men show the love for their kids like they do nowadays. My son is the same way by his son. I would have given anything if my dad had shown that kind of love when i was a child. How about u??

I dont watch superbowl but I can see how an action like that would touch you Antique because it brings back memories of you and your granson.I like the scene you have described because it shows that men can be just as loving as women ,something that many people find it hard to believe. I dont have a child but if and when I have a child I know I wont be afraid to show my emotions for my child because I grew up without a father and wouldnt want my child to have to go through the same

Oh that is a moving scene! Even if I did not see it myself, the mere descriptions of that scene touched my heart. I love to see men showing such affection to kids. For women showing such kind of emotion, it is almost a common thing, but for men it is quite seldom because sometimes they are not very showy even if they do care and sometimes some of them don't really care. I love to see more men holding their baby and showing such kind of love and care. I am happy your son is one of those who show such kind of love and I wish all fathers could do the same!

Good morning & thanks for your response. It was such a touching thing to see. Young men don't seem to mind showing their love for their children & i think it's wonderful that they do. I am thankful my son shows his love to my grandson like he does. That little boys loves his parents so much it's a wonderful thing to see.

Good morning & thank u for responding. I'm sorry u have that sadness in your life. It's a very sorry thing for a man to not be in their children's lives. I don't understand that. My sons had the same problem w/their dads.

I got more love from my Dad than from my mother so I was pathetically grateful for any love shown to me. He never attended any school functions but then neither did my mother but he was always kind to me and I did know that he loved me. My kids had a great Dad and the two with children are greatwith their children too. Children really do learn what they see

My grandfather showed me a lot of love and he was actually more like a dad than a grandfather..I guess he was..he was all I really knew. I think it's great when a dad is involved and loves their children. The sad truth is that there are not alot of those wonderful loving dads around anymore. Take care.

It was snowing a little when I came home about an hour ago but it's only supposed to be a dusting. We got a pretty good load a week ago though. Snowed me in almost all weekend.

Hi Antiquelady, I have to agree with you. A Dad's love is immeasurable. Just like a mom's love too. There is something to be said about being "daddy's little girl", it can be the best feeling. You just know he will be there for you no matter what and I love that about my dad. A lot of gruff and noise but when I really needed him to be there, he is, always. I watched the game and I saw the scene that you described. It was awesome. I do not have kids, but when I see parents display that love it makes my heart go warm. What a thing you can say to your child, "I won the Superbowl!"

It was a very nice image. To see both their faces just looking around, trying to soak everything in. It may not mean much for the kid now, but I'm sure he'll cherish it when he seed pictures of it. And that image has been preserved. Last night on Letterman, Brees was the guest. David showed him the next issue of Sports Illustrated. It was Drew carrying his son in a complete picture of happiness. My dad is typical. That he doesn't show much emotion. That's why I try to be different with my sons. I try to hug and kiss them all the time.

My favorite part of the game was also Brees holding his darling boy. I was so touched by it. His love for that child was so evident and the tears in his eyes showed the deep feelings he had at that time. I agree that it's wonderful to see todays daddies openly showing their love for their children. When I was a child, men had to live up to society's expectations of strong, unemotional men who only did "manly" things. One of the fallouts of that way of thinking was children who weren't as secure in their fathers' love as kids must be today.

I had a loving dad. He always there when i need him. He never tell me that he love me but i can feel his love through his attention to me, his understanding, his laugh whan we talk, even when he is angry with me.

It's tough being a dad nowadays. I mean you have to show them that you love them, but at the same time you need to be strong and show them that there are rules and boundaries that cannot be broken. We do what we do to make them a better person in the long run. The hard part is that there is no real manual or guide to being a parent, we just have to figure it out as we go.

It's tough being a parent anytime but u help bring them in the world & u need to looki look after them. Why is it so tough nowadays. It was tough when i was raising mine alone to.It's called love.

What I mean is that love has many faces. Just because a father doesn't constantly coddle his children doesn't mean that he doesn't love them. I have three children and I love them very much, I would do anything for any one of them. But the fact of the matter is that children need discipline to fully understand their situation in life. Sometimes a child needs to be told "no", or scolded. Usually that part is left up to us. How many times have you heard "I'm going to tell your father when he gets home"? It doesn't mean that we don't love them, it means that we are doing the best that we can to explain to them how the world works and to raise them to be wonderful people. That is what's so hard about it, trying to raise them in the best way that we can, yet letting them know that we love them too.

Morning, dear LADY! Mr. Idiot, the renter was gone for the day...and I was able to come upstairs and watch the game on my T.V., bigger one! The one I have downstairs is 12"....NOT only was I totally thrilled that the SAINTS won their first ever SUPER BOWL...it ended up being a CRY fest for me! Their win brought me to tears, as New Orleans truly needed this boost....BUT BREES and his Baby Boy, just kept the tears of joy flowing (nice to have tears of joy, lately) That was soooooo touching! I am sorry about your Dad...but I did HAVE that kind of love from my Father (whenever he could see me), and I am sure it gave me the strength I have today! LOVE & HUGS!
