What being a Hockey fan reveals about one.

This is according to Richard D Ginsberg Ph.D and co-director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Sport Psychology Program. He says that if you are a hockey fan..you are a reliable strategist. It means we can withstand the stress of knowing other people depend on us. That we are dependable team members at work and at home and that we are also rational thinkers that can keep up with complex strategies employed at the highest level of hockey. It fits me pretty well. How about you guys is it a accurate description? Now if I can just remember all of this the next time someone new in my life is shocked to find out that someone like me is such a major hockey nut.

Most of it is right for me. Not sure about withstanding the stress though. Because I get pretty sourly everytime the canucks loose. But I guess, people can still depend on me, so that's OK. My favorite part of a game is a deflected slapshot while screening the goalie, now that's what I call a 'complex strategy at the highest level of hockey'! Thank you Dr. Ginsberg.

Unfortunately, it has been a crappy night for the canucks. They've outshot the lightning but still they lost. I don't have any intentions of watching any sports news tonight, so I wouldn't see the wings highlights. But I know they also lost, so sorry about that too J. How did Franzen do tonight?

I knew it was you bounce before I even asked it..I like the lidstrom..un-deflected slap shot from the blue line, the one the goalie thought he saw as it went by him and lit up his light. Franzen is supposed to back for St Louis game tonight..sticks crossed!!!!!

That's me partly. I have come to the point where who ever degrades hockey in my presence is ignored and automatically put on my enemies list.Actually I feel sorry for them They are missing the best sport on the planet.

I know the people you mean, the ones that think hockey is fighting and knocking each other down. I just ignore them..anymore..I use to try and make them see why I liked it..now I believe they just don't deserve to have that much fun.

this sounds about right. after all, most hockey fans are Canadian and Canadians are definitely reliable!! (lol!) i guess i am more of a hockey fan because my first date with my husband off 22 years was at a Leaf game! (too bad they are not doing that well this year!)

As a Red Wing fan with our current season I feel your pain cher. It was a date with a boy, a little over 30 years ago that turned me into a hockey fan. I started out with college hockey and moved on from there..ended up dumping the boy but couldn't kick the hockey habit.
