Hi guys just read the latest news about paypal regarding indian payments. And this is what they have to say now. "It’s Anuj from the comms team here again. Following on from my blog post on Saturday, I’ve received a number of questions about the situation in India and I thought it’d be best to simply answer the questions in a blog post. Here are answers to the top questions I’ve received: 1. Why did you suspend local bank transfers and personal payments to and from India? We temporarily suspended these services to respond to enquiries from the Indian regulators, specifically questions on whether personal payments constitute remittances into India. We’re working with the regulators and our bank processing partners in India to get this resolved as quickly as we can. We realize that this is causing considerable inconvenience to our customers and I want to reassure you that this is a top priority for the leadership at PayPal 2. When will personal payments be turned back on? The regulators recently let PayPal know about revised licensing rules that we are now actively engaged in securing. Personal payments to and from India will be suspended for at least a few months until we fully resolve the questions from the Indian regulators. 3. When will local bank withdrawals be available? Customers should be able to withdraw their funds to a local bank within the next few days. In the meantime, we’re going to restore the money into the PayPal accounts of any customers in India who have initiated a recent withdrawal, so they know that the money is safe in their accounts. Customers will also be reimbursed for any withdrawal fee charges. 4.The PayPal reversal has left me with a negative balance. What shall I do? If you bought something or transferred money out of your PayPal account to your bank account before we reversed the payment then you may be left with a negative balance. If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, you should contact the sender and have him or her resend the payment as follows: (a) click the Send Money tab, and (b) select “purchase.” If this was a personal payment, then the sender will need to find another payment method until we restore the service. We’re sorry about this. If you can’t recover the funds from the sender, you can bring your PayPal balance current by logging in to the PayPal account and clicking the “Resolve Negative Balance” link on the Account Overview page. 5. My payment was reversed but it was not a personal payment. What happened? Only personal payments should have been reversed. Customers who believe that their payments were reversed in error should request that the payment be sent again by following the steps above (click the Send Money tab and select “purchase.”) If you are still having problems, please contact PayPal customer support I hope that this helps clear up some of the confusion around the situation in India and I’d like to take the opportunity to personally apologize on behalf of PayPal for the inconvenience that this is causing our customers. Anuj"

About personal payment,It will take several month to solve,So i think indians should shut down their online work.Bad news,as alert pay is not the best option of paypal their are many restrictions for indian in alert pay also & most of site pays through paypal or alertpay only.I'm very sad & disappointed too, I thought paypal will solve this issue in several weeks only.

You dont get it. there is no need to shut down online work, only personal payments are been stopped. most of the online sites uses masspay or instant pay. so those are not considered as personal payments. so we can still receive payments from sites. many people did receive payments and they were not reversed,

Sad to hear this disturbing news. But as a foreigner living in India, I am really pissed (excuse me for that) on how India is very strict on money sending and receiving. I really have a very difficult time to send money back to my own country. Well as far as Paypal is concern, they are just obeying the policy of what the country is implementing, which is for "REMITTANCE". I think they must be thinking of adding tax into it so that you and I would be receiving our hard earned money with tax plus headache. I have nothing against your government, nor Paypal or any local banks that questions the transaction of money sending. But I am hoping for the best that they would solve this situation because what will be the use of working hard "ONLINE" if we would be having a problem receiving the fruits of our labor.

the problem is not with the government. to open a business in any country a company needs some people from that country to be a partner with them so as for paypal, they are facing problems from their partners. dont worry everythin will be solved just remain calm. Regards

I know that Paypal tries to resolve problems in a mmatter of days. I know about one site that pays me and some time back Paypal put an investigation to find something about the site payments. I think the issue was with some mass payments. My payment from that site was blocked, but after one week the problem was solved.

Last week I requested for the withdrawal of money from paypal, a sum of 10 dollars. Yesterday they reversed it and put the money back to my paypal account. But to my surprise, an amount of $1.75 was deducted from my account as withdrawal fees. I am not sure that once paypal again starts allowing the withdrawal process for the Indians, whether I will get back that deducted amount or not.

Hi hatimyal..How are you..? All members should be very thankful to you for your elaborated details which give some consolation to all frustrated members.. You are also encouraging every one to continue with their money-making activities on internet without letting down stating that this problem would be solved if not today..tomorrow or in a few weeks/months.. Your efforts of safe guarding the interest of our friends are really commendable. Let's prey ALMIGHTY that every thing turns good for us in the near future... We are left with no other alternatively but to wait patiently. In my case $4 credited in my paypal account during the last week of January was reversed to the site by the paypal informing me and regretting about their action. I do not know whether I will get back that amount from the site ..my account balance has not been raised so far in the site. Really it is a very pathetic condition for all of us and we sincerely wish this problem should be solved soon and status-co should be maintained. Let's prey for that. WITH BEST WISHES AND BEST OF LUCK TO EVERY FRIEND OF NOT ONLY MYLOT BUT THE WHOLE OF ON LINE WORKING MEMBERS.
