I realized that I almost never pick up a pen or pencil anymore Unless I'm signing to use my debit/cc I seldom have to write anything. I say things by keyboard...lol How about you? Are you still communicating with ink or lead? xoxooxxoxo

I realised at the end of last year that I rarely wrote, and when I did it was usually in short hand as I made notes. What was worse that I realised that my hand writing had suffered and was now becoming a complete mess. So this year I have being filling in a hand written daily journal of my activities and slowly my hand writing has improved again. As for actuall communications, they still remain typed, lol.

I type things if I want to be sure they are legible. I like how it looks and you know, it is soothing. I think I may go write something tonight.

I use a pen everyday. I sell on ebay and write everyting down, I have my own system to keep track of everything. I don't sit down and write letters. I do like to keep in touch with people by email, its so much easier and faster too.

I write alot using pen at work. I do medical billing so I have to document alot and it cannot be in pencil because that can be erased. I write alot and work on novels too. That is when I use pencil the most. This way if I write something that I want to change or edit, I can do that without the mess. Personally I like pencil better.

I love the physical act of writing. I use a pen or pencil, or both, every day. Even though most of my work is done via computer, I still keep paper diaries and notes.

I used to always write everything by hand, using a pen. Not that I didn't know how to type, or didn't like typing, I just liked to write. Now that I have arthritis in my hands, it's hard to hold a pencil and write ledgibly haha. I type everything anymore, and I find my typing speed has really increased. Still, I wish I could do calligraphy like I used to. Like you, I hardly ever actually write anything except signing checks and stuff like that anymore.

I write little sticky notes to myself all the time. I also make notes on the pages I print out to tell me what I want to write on my freelance assignments. I still write, and I always will.

The last time I wrote with a pen was to write a cheque this morning, and to sign some papers, or to jot down a quick note, or give someone else my e-mail address. Besides little things like that, and holiday cards at Christmas, or Thank You notes, or addressing invitations, I use my computer.

I love writing! Sometimes when I haven't written in a whilw, I get writing cravings. Weird hey? I'll ghet out some paper and just write anything. I love the feel of writing! I prefer a fine ball point pen though I do like pencil for a change sometimes.

I still write in pencil, at work when I am checking on the documents I use pencil. I don't want to use ink pen since some papers need not to be writen in some other inks and some papers are not originally stored in my department so I just borrow the documents. And also at home when I am doing my draft of articles I use pencil. It is more convenient as ink leave a dirty ink on my writing sometimes. I still use it, I always have a pen or pencil at my case.

Prior to getting my own computer some three years ago ( I had to use the ones at the library or internet place) I used to write by hand so much more. I even used to write my short stories or letter writing by hand even though I have a typewriter (still have it). I have to confess now with my computer I seldom write by hand except my signature on checks...and oh heavens..my handwriting is atrocious now

I'm a senior in high school so if I'm bored I write with a pen in my sketch book around a drawing. I'm not communicating with ink though. The keyboard is much more convenient (especially this one... is feels so smooth). But writing with a pen feels nice sometimes. and when I see an empty piece of paper I want to fill it with my thoughts.

Hiya mom, I am always writing with a pen, firstly I record all my stats on the sites I make money from on a daily basis, I do statistics, I also do a 'self esteem' diary which helps me get the stuff out of my head that needs to be analyzed, I also use it for my weekly counseling sessions to run through with my counselor. I have always been an avid writer from a young age, even the computer hasn't replaced my writings. Poetry is not the same is it when it's typed. Although having said that I can't remember the last time I wrote an actual letter.

Like you, I write with my keyboard, as most of my friends do. However, there is one person I pick up a pen and paper for and write by hand the old fashioned way - and that is to my mother in the UK who is in an Aged Care Home; I live in Australia. She had a stroke a few years ago and I can't talk to her on the phone as she is unable to speak, so our only communication is by letter. I used to type letters to her (it's easier than writing by hand), but she said she liked to see my own writing to know it was me! I must admit though, it is nice to get a real, hand-written letter in the mail, delivered by the mailman! Those days have all but gone - unfortunately.

Pen in hand - I drew this especially for this discussion.
Well, I like to do crossword puzzles in the loo so I use a pen every day Seriously, though, I do still use pens and pencils, especially if I want to draw something. I've tried drawing on the computer but never liked the results.

I have snail mail pals and belong to a post card site that sends post cards all over the world. I also pay some of my bills with checks, so I am writing something every day. I make myself lists of things all the time, also. I belong to a club and some committees for that club that require me to take notes. So it seems I am always with pen and paper for one thing or another.

I write in pen in all my journals and notebooks. Pen is permanent and graphic slowly turns into an unreadable smudge over time. I only pick up my pencil when I'm doing math homework. I like writing in journals by hand, and I don't think I could ever replace it with typing. I like watching the pages and the lines fill up. It's probably weird of me to think this way, but I like writing in ink.
