either that or he's unsure of his own intelligence and afraid of a deep conversation..i've heard people say they want somebody "dumb"(male and female) and when they get it,then they complain about that too..

Guys like this are immature, control freaks. That is not his male ego talking. Rather it is his lack of ego. Someone like this has no self-confidence. Sad but not good relationship material.

to be honest everybody has different views on what they want in a partner, I honestly don't think male chauvinist oinks exist to a large extent. I myself go for looks before intelligence but that's is my own personal taste some guys will go for the opposite. It could be turned round, I know some women who want the 6 pack and rich guys to be their partner does that make them female chuvanist oinks lol, its simple choice and I think the guy in question is at least being honest, better being honest then going behind someone's back. Just my opinion,

Hiiii there Unfortunately guys like that do exist.Many guys want to play dominant role in relationship still and some of them can digest their partner being more intelligent than that of them.their so call ego do get hurt.This is sad but people like this do exist .I have come across few of them.

You should have told him, if she was intelligent enough, she would have ditched you before you ditched her. Ugh! I dont like people breaking up. It should never reach a stage where it hurts the other unbearably. If people cant judge another person before starting a serious relationship they are indeed low IQ.

Well that is the sad reality of many men, and I have seen that behavior so many times, I actually had a boyfriend like that some years ago, he was jealous whenever I was doing better than him at school, and would always try to control me, this is not only male ego, I think it is stupidity and a deep inside insecurity, he doesn't want an intelligent woman because they wouldn't put up with any non sense, cheating and controlling. He probably doesn't understand that in relationships, no one has to control anyone, there has to be a balance.

Well I do the exact opposite. If a woman is dumb, she doesn't belong near me! I mean, you HAVE to communicate with someone with a decent IQ.

Your friends seems to have control issues which in reality is a form of abusive behavior. He should look at himself to see what he is lacking or is bothering him to want to be in charge of another person. Anyone can play the "dumb role card" for a awhile and then decide to wake up later. What was his family dynamics? His role models? Each person has to give 100% of themselves to make a relationship work not 50% or less. You cannot say I am giving you my top or bottom half or one side of me to you and the rest somewhere else. That's what I mean by 100%. But not to go into an abusive relationship. If a topic comes up that he does not understand ask questions. Just like in school you cannot educate yourself if you do ask what you do not understand. Maybe you r friend should look inside himself and ask the question of what he is looking for and from whom. Would I like to be treated this way. Seek a mentor or counselor to bounce off ideas or thoughts. The best of luck and take care.
