Let's Pray and/or Send Best Wishes to President Bill Clinton

It has just been reported that former President Bill Clinton has been taken to a hospital in NYC with chest pains. One report has it that he's going to get a stent. President Clinton had open heart surgery in 2004. I just heard this news and wanted to pass it along to anyone here who hadn't heard it. I'm hoping that those of you who believe in prayer will pray for him and his family and that those of you who don't will send your best wishes. I'm going to state right now that if anyone chooses to use this discussion as a forum for offensive, insulting or demeaning comments about the former President, his family, loved ones or supporters I WILL report it instantly. We all have the right to our opinions but this isn't the time nor the place for negative energy! I would say the same exact thing if it were Former President Bush in the hospital! Annie

He will certainly get my prayers. I really liked Bill Clinton and I would have voted for Hillary in a heartbeat my prayers go to both of the Clintons. This is definitely not a discussion to vent ones political views.

You're so right, this isn't a discussion to argue about politics. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who responded for not doing that! There are some times, I think, when we all need to stop and realize these people aren't all that different from from the rest of us. They're not immortal and they have families who love them and who they love every bit as much as we love those close to us. I think the world of Bill Clinton. He wasn't and isn't a saint but he's sure done a lot more GREAT things than he's done bad. He's made a positive difference in many, many lives. Annie

One of the main reasons I applied for citizenship, after living in the States for years as a legal immigrant, was to vote for Bill Clinton.

We've got CNN on now and the latest update was that they've done the procedure. This is good news since stenting is much less invasive than another bypass. Hillary is on her way to New York...I know that she can't get there fast enough. My husband is freaking out. He had his triple bypass at around the same time, arteries harvested from the leg...the only difference is their lifestyles.

Chris Matthews just announced that Hillary is there and so is Chelsea. Pardon the typo in my comment above - I meant "at HIS side" NOT "at THIS side"! Tell your husband to relax and just make sure to keep in touch with his doctors especially if he isn't "feeling well" even in a vague sort of way. Annie

I'm glad both of them are with him...I know from experience that having your loved ones with you helps. Hubby got the "see your doctor" message today, that's for sure. My theory has always been that I'd rather go in for a false alarm than not go in for the real thing.

Wow...bad couple of weeks for politicans! I hope he is ok. This really came out of the blue. I know he has had heart problems and surgeries in the past...but I did not think he still had heart issues. I am sure he is getting the best care and will be back on his feet soon.

Just wanted to let you know that CNN is saying that Clinton is doing ok...and that he MAY get to go home tomorrow. So if the hospital is already thinking of sending him home tomorrow..then things must be going pretty good for him.

He isn't my favorite president, but he WAS my president and I truly wish him and his family well. My husband has gone through five bypasses and I would wish neither those nor the stents on anyone. It's a horrible thing to go through. It says a lot about President Clinton that he was in good spirits after the operation. May he soon be well and up and about.

He was already out taking a walk and he's going back to work on Monday. He said he instantly felt more energy after they opened up those arteries and that the rest of his heart, outside of the part where he had his previous bypasses, is very healthy. Annie

I also wish former President Clinton well! Fortunately getting a stent put in has low risk to the patient. SOS Clinton and Chelsea my thoughts are with you too.

Hillary is probably at this side by now and I'd bet Chelsea is too, although I don't know where she's been lately. I do know she adores her dad, that's always been obvious! Annie

I heard about this early this afternoon while at work and I do wish him the best. Last I heard the procedure went well and he is fine now. Even though I don't like Bush I would send him well wishes as well.

I watched the news and they reported him that he can walk and can go home on the morrow or something. That was alarming, but luckily his doctor has made a statement that he can walk and talk already..

Whether you agree with his politics or not, it's never good to say mean things about someone going through surgery. All the best to him. From what I hear on CNN, it sounds like the surgery went well and he will recover quickly, which I am very happy to hear, Thanks for the post and Happy Mylotting!

Yes, I will continue to pray and ask God to move upon Former President Clinton's body and heal him. I will continue to pray for his family that they will remain strong so that they can encourage and uplift him. I think that he has made some great contributions to this world. He is a swell guy. Thanks for the discussion.

Of course, we all wish good to happen for everyone. You are right; this is not a time for emotion, but for compassion. God tells us to pray for all, even our enemies. We are all blessed by doing things God's way and by getting our own hearts right. It has been announced that Clinton is already home from the hospital and all is well. I am thankful and happy for a good outcome.

I heard about the news earlier. I know some people who had the same kind of operations so I knew he'd do fine. I agree, Former Presidents Bush and Reagan still had my respect and best wishes. I hope and pray Mr. Clinton is up and good as new as soon as possible.

At the time they announced that Hillary left but not with urgency, that showed he was okay and not in any imminent danger. Which is a good thing. They also said he intends to stick with his schedule. Which I understand includes walking his daughter down the aisle.
