Isn't it annoying when you try to sit down for a few minutes or a couple of hours to watch your favorite show or say favorite sport and all another person wants to do is aggrivate you because you are watching your favorite show. They text you or they call til you get mad and angry then you start saying stupid things just to get them off the phone and or to get them to stop texting. I was watching the super bowl and was very agrivated with my friend that I was talking to at the time. He kept texting me when I told him I would talk to him after the game was over he got pissed off at me and asked when I was going to talk to him. Usually when you tell someone that you will talk to them when the game is over that means you will talk to them when the game is over with. The super bowl is kind of hard to determine how long it will be so there is no way to tell someone a time on it but he still got mad.

Hi crysontherocks77, This is the very reason I dislike cell phones. I do not want to be contactable 24/7. But thankfully there is a simple answer to such an annoyance, you can just switch it off. Did I mention, "All cell phones are evil"

My little girl was at my dad's on saturday and then my grandmother was at the nursing home and in and out of the hospital at the time so shutting it off was not necessarily something that I could do. I just told the guy that I would text or call him when i got done with the game. It aggrivated me because later I got a message saying it was his wife and that I need to leave him alone. I was like omg and so I got aggrivated because it was bad enough that he wouldn't leave me a lone for that length of time I had to find out he was married.

There would be times that I get annoyed but of course it really depends. Like if I am waiting for someone to text for a very important thing then it would not get me annoyed. But if I we're doing something very important to me and somebody keeps texting then definitely I would be annoyed. But I have to admit I am very good at doing things all at the same time.

well that's why it was annoying me because he didn't really need to talk to me I had been talking to him for 4 or5 days straight either texting or on the phone and so he could have stopped texting me for a little so I can enjoy the game. I asked my mom about it and she said he probably thought with you being female that you wouldn't actually be watching it.

It's annoying when I hear my ring tone going off. For that reason I usually have my phone on vibrate only. But even when I do hear a phone, whether it's a cell phone or a regular phone, I will ignore it if I'm busy doing something else. Even when just watching TV, I think nothing of ignoring a phone call or text message.

I don't like it either it is very annoying especially when you are watching something like the Superbowl and you are right that isn't a time you can say for that or really for anything at that matter. I can't stand it when some one says how long will it be before you call me back? I can not put a time on this because what if something happens like someone were to knock at your door and it was the time to call back or what if you fell down and broke your arm or something? Something is happening every second of our lives how can we know what will or what will not happen in the 5 minutes we are supposed to call someone back?

It really doesn't bother me. People know that if I don't answer right away I'll get back to them. This is especially true if its a text message. He and you probably wouldn't be in this pickle if the situation had been handeled differently. But, that's my opinion. If you don't want to be bothered by calls or texts simply turn off the phone, or turn it to sicelent, or put it in another room. You may have several text messages when you finally decide to check it, but then you aren't disturbed.

That just gets on my nerve. I live with my girlfriend and she had her Blackberry cell I couldn't sleep at times due to the fact that darn thing was going off every 15 minutes. At breakfast someone text her, At lunch someone texts her, and at dinner. I thank the heavens that eventually she got annoyed as well.

While I love my other half to bits, he will insist on making phone calls while I am watching a movie on television. It drives me nuts as he chatters to his mate, often to the extent that I can't hear the movie at all. Why can't he go into another room to chat

Here's an idea. If you don't wanna be bothered, turn your phone off. There are times when I turned my phone off while I was eating, on vacation, watching tv, in a movie theater, having an important conversation, at a birthday party & etc.

That's a very annoying thing for me as I love my television and I don't like missing my favourite programs. Still, when the phone rings, if it is a friend it's very difficult to say to them, 'Can't chat now as I'm watching my favourite program!' I'm sure friendships would end pretty fast! But, I'm pretty easy going with it anyway. I sometimes take my phone off the hook and this way no one can get in touch with you, hopefully there isn't an emergency though whereby someone needs to get in touch with you urgently! Andrew

I do watch a bit of tv like the soaps as well as a few crime series that are on the tv,i have also noticed that there are always things that stop me from watching the tv or worse still hearing it aswell.I come on the pc alot of the time and the same thing happens to me when i am on here, you get stopped by the phone, someone popping in to see you as well as the door keeps going. Also i get the children playing up or the husband wanting to know where something is as he can not find something,i hate it when i am trying to hear the tv and all the husband do is yap all the way through it aswell.

Oh God yes Just when you settle down to watch a programme that you have been wanting to watch all day, you hear the cursed sound of your phone ringing or beeping to signal a text message

Um, it only bothers me when I'm watching a really interesting movie and suddenly someone calls me, as I don't like being interrupted. In those cases I try to keep the conversation short to go back to what I was doing. If what I receive is an e-mail in my phone, I won't answer it until I have finished with what I was doing

Hi there! NO, it doesn't annoy me. Texting while watching tv is sort of a multitasking for me.lol. It is really not a problem for me.Sometimes, I would tell the story of the show I am watching to the one I am texting.

hi, hahaha... I hate when I am eating. I hate the most... well, he must be like you a lot that's why he kept on asking you. well, sometime guy needs to be rush and it is so annoying but that's the way they are. If he does that then you dont have to answer or text back or turn off the phone if you think he is not important. But if he is also important then invite him over and watch it with you... If he always like this then let it goes... he will be better very soon cuz since he can't stop talking to you and if you dont talk to him then he will be stress all day.

crysontherocks77, I do not have any issue if I am watching television but I will if I am in a movie or theatrical show. However, I just cannot control these message alerts or incoming calls, other than switching it off during the duration of the show or live performance. So, just switch it off if you can and it will not be a bother, other than having a "diarrhea" of incoming text messages. I really do not have any problems switching the phone off or at least put them on "vibrations" mode but there will always be some odd ones who will blatantly let their phone ring off during the performances. I suppose that's what the people in the real will call it - "That's life!" P.S. If I were you back there, I'd switched off the phone or pulled the wire out of the wall socket.

On this occasion i would have but they had just put my grandmother in the nursing home and I had some family issues out there as well and could just shut it off completely. Although that is a nice thought.
