A strange question isn't it? but when I was very active on internet with lotting and PTC my bookmark list was that big that it couldn't fit into one screen and I had to scroll down to get to the bottom entry! These days, the list is almost empty because I am doing my jobs on only three websites, two ptcs and one myLot!

Mine is huge. I try to clean it up now and then, and always wind up finding interesting web sites that I'd forgotten about. I'm not sure how much good the bookmarks do me other than that! I do have them organized (kind of) and actually use a few regularly.

At that time, I was very fast. My motivation on myLot was this link: http://www.mylot.com/w/usersbylocation/1.aspx Here you can find your rank on myLot. Every day, I used to go up by 20-30 ranks. Those were days!

I actually was just cleaning up my Bookmarks earlier today! My bookmarks are... huge. I bookmark everything, and have dozens of folders. For example I have folders for Restaurants to try, Vacation spots to visit, things to Write about, Things to do locally, etc. So I bookmark almost anything of interest and almost use these folders as a guide to help me remember. Next time I am planning a vacation, I can just go to my Vacation ideas folder and dig through there :) Or if I want to go out to eat someplace new, I check out my Restaurants folder. However it does get HUGE and unorganized, so every so often (like today) I go in and delete really old ones that I'm no longer interested in, or create new folders if I find new things I've been bookmarking. I know some people use bookmarks only for things they access all the time, but for me it's become a whole directory of things I want to remember :)

Hmm, that was why i was asking the question about. One more thing, they would be surprised to see other people using net without bookmarks, isn't ti?

My bookmark list is huge. I have divided ny bookmarks into groups so that I am able to find the links that I am looking for. I have one group called "travelling", one group called "music", one group called "games", one group called "art" etc. Before I organized my links in groups, it took me ages to find the link that I was looking for. The groups have made things easier, but there are still far too many bookmarks, I ought to go through them one day and delete the ones that I don't need anymore. Maybe one day

A plus point for an original discussion! My bookmark list, like yours, is enormous - and hopelessly out-of-date. Most of my BMs go back to when I first started my new career (I'm a writer) and was continuously finding sites with relevent topics. Then I found out it was easier to C and P the info into documents and use it that way. Nowadays, my bank details and workplace are about the only BMs I use. Plus things like facebook, My space etc. Some of the links are so old that the sites don't exist any more! One day, I'll have to sort out my BMs.

Oh, thank you very much for the appreciation. Well, that is a good idea of having the links C & P in our documents. I will try and do that from the next time. It seems more secure when we are not using our private PCs. Most of the time I use net in my office and it is not intended for me only. EVery one is allowed to any system.

It's a lot quicker. When I'm browsing, if I find a particularly good site I might use again, I copy the address into my document. All my documents are tidied away into sections (sort of) so it's easy to say, "Right, I need to research forex for this month's articles," go to the relevant document, c and p the address back into the http address box - and away! I say forex because that's what I'm doing at the moment - or was, earlier.

My bookmark list is so big it takes about 20-30 seconds to scroll through it! I have not deleted any bookmarks in years. I need to clean it up, but I am too lazy!

In years! OMG! I think I have mailed my bookmark to my email id but it wasn't that big to take 20 seconds to scroll! I had almost 40 website in my list. Can you count the entries in your list?

I have lots in my bookmark list that I had already made several folders in the form of categories. Most of them are blog pages that I thought might be worth taking a read to. Thankfully in firefox 3.6 I can scroll up and down the list with the mouse wheel without having to point the cursor to a down pointing arrow at the bottom of the bookmarks menu. Its a real convenience so far and it saves tons of time to have bookmarks. In all I may have around 100 plus.

Haha. That is funny. Amazing how you have managed to slim your bookmarks down to pretty much nil. Good on you! What's the size of my bookmark list? Which one? Seriously. My bookmark list, on this machine goes on and on and on and is a real b*tch to try and find a certain one again. Takes a very long time. I have other book mark lists on CD, from when I formatted and another CD from when I formatted before that. So good question because my bookmarks lists go on for what seems like eternity.

Don't tell me taht you have 2 CDs of bookmark!! Are you kidding me? This can't be right. Well, what kind of site do you save in your bookmarks list. I know it is difficult for anyone to delete any thing from computer becasue everyone thinks that things must be there as there can be an incident when you need them, isn't ti? That must be the reason why your bookmark list goes on and on and on! Although, this is my personal thinking, don't take it on your heart!

Myhome page - It's my default page, I made it via dreamwaver. It's very useful. Have a try.
Do you know how to use Dreamwaver? I use it for collecting all the websites I wanted and digest into a page. It's very useful. By the way, it's not an online page. I named it Myhome and I set it as the default page. Hope you can understand me.

funny you should bring this up...as it is I use to never use the bookmark option and always made an icon to go to the sites that I use everyday. Well, decided to put away the desktop and hubby gave me his laptop when he got a new one for his work. His first thing he said was dont make to many icons on the desktop because he would still be using this one from time to time and I wasnt sure how to remember all the sites that I do daily without the icons....then I discovered the bookmark option and that is all I use now. Mine isnt that bad really, I only have 17 sites in my bookmark but they arent all sites that I do-- I do about 6 sites a week....but I use my bookmark daily now and it is so much easier for me. Happy Mylotting!!

I do not use my bookmark list that often. when I have used it, it was not very long. I mark what I need at the time. like if I am travleing, I have bookmarked hotels that I want to chose, I have bookmarked dvd choices too. but I will delete them after I am done slecting. i can't belive you have one that long, wow! maybe you should shorten it.

I have a very huge bookmark list over two browsers. On Explorer, which I do not really use anymore, I actually lost count with the amount of sights that I bookmarked. I really do not like typing in the URL. Even though, it may probably take less time than scrolling through the bookmark list. Switching over to Mozilla helped, as now I do not have as many favorites but the list is growing. I perhaps should organize them a bit. Put different types of sites into different folders. However, there never seems to be enough time in the day, does there?

Yes, it takes less time for me to type rather than looking it in bookmarks and that is also the reason why my bookmark list isn't that big. I always prefer keyboard rather than mouse. I don't knwo why?

I never ever EVER clean out my bookmarks! I am like an internet hoarder that needs some sort of intervention. If I like it, or even don't like it -- it gets saved, because there is the possibility of wanting to look at it again, or wanting to show someone else! My thing says I have 240 bookmarks currently, and this computer is only a year old -- so, imagine how some of my older computers bookmarks tabs are!
