Travel is possible with little money

A friend asked me how I can afford to travel to Canada this summer. I said to her that travel is my top hobby. I explained how ever much money I have I still go off traveling. My cheapest trip was an early morning flight to Italy and then an overnight bus to Croatia. For that budget trip I took my tent to go camping in my tent. When I do have more money I go to far away destinations. I have a long list of places I want to go to on my travel wish list. You might not have enough money right now to travel around the world. Perhaps you could plan a budget trip to a cheap country. You might be able to get a low cost flight to a reasonably priced destination. Which are the cheaper countries that you have visited or wish to visit? Have you ideas of how to save money when traveling?

I believe that travel is possible with not much money, and even little money, but it all depends on the destinations you go and the way you spend your vacation. For example, the first vacation I want now is to visit the Disneyland in Hong kong, which is the nearest one to us.And I want to live in the hotels in the Disneyland. That would be costy,I guess. Most of all,I need someone who can go along with me.I dont want to spend time in the Disneyland alone.

i guess its alright if you have friend to that place where you want to visit but if none then it will cost you a lot. lodging is actually costly when you travel specially if you would like to stay in hotel. so better yet to have friends from different places so you can visit them and stay with their house for free lol

The cheapest airline ticket was to Ireland via a no frills company. I still had to pay for the accommodation but it was cheaper when compared to use the local national airlines. I guess when travelling one has to do his homework well and plan in advance in order to save some few bucks. Ireland by no means is not a cheap country. At least the food is not cheap when compared to England but it was still a beautiful country.

The cheapest I've been to is Russia. I got a round-trip flight on Aeroflot for a little over $800USD and spent less than $400 during the week I was there. My wife and I want to go to Croatia sometime this year. A friend of our here in Canada has a house there that he's trying to sell on the sea.

Hi Maxine, You know that for me, traveling is part of being healthy in soul and body. As I don´t have much money, I have learnt to save when traveling. There´s a lot of shopping in airfares and you can save a lot if you do some homework. If your trip can be done by land, you can see whether it is cheaper a bus or train or share car costs with other people. In all countries there are low budget restaurants that serve the food of the country. Usually they are places that are not for tourists but for locals. Food is really the food you want to try and the cost is low. Anyway, I buy most of my food at supermarkets. If I can cook, I do it, if I can´t, I can make nutritious sandwichs with cold cuts, lettuce, tomatoes and so on. In most countries there´s a way of traveling cheap and another of expensive vacationing.

Last year my husband and I went to Latvia and Lithuania, we didn't have a lot of money to spend on travelling because had just celebrated our wedding party, but we really wanted go on a vacation together, and chose the cheapest options. We stayed at hostels instead of hotels, and we were able to save some money because we chose rooms with a private bathroom. We also chose to go by bus instead of flying. It wasn't very comfortable to spend more than 30 hours on a bus, but we found some really cheap return tickets, and we saved a lot of money that way.

You know i wish to travel not around the world but at least two or three countries that i want to see. Of course i need a lot of budget. And that is the no.1 problem here in my place especially in my case. I cannot produce the big amount of money if i dont have good paying job here. What is the most cheapest country you have been when you are traveling around? Can you share it to me? Mostly here in Asia I want to go only. Thank you and have a nice day my friend..

Hi maximax, You are right when you have a mindset to travel money does not stand a hindrance. Though I have not visited a lot I wish to. Though not round the globe I have some selected destination to make it to. Let me calculate time and penny and then I am off. Your travelling scheme is really praiseworthy.

Although travelling is possible with next to no money, it all depends on what destinations you plan on travelling, because for some destinations, it is very hard to have a good time and get the most out of them when you are on a limited budget Countries that are great to visit are the types of countries that aren't too wealthy themselves, because everything seems to be much cheaper and money isn't so relied upon. Also, destinations with beautiful landscapes are a good one because yo don't need money to explore nature
